It is bloody hard to exercise off the weight. I lost 160 pounds without hitting the gym (well, to any significant degree), and I’ve kept 140 of them off for close to 10 years now. Budgeting calories in is way easier than attempting to burn calories off.
For someone sedentary, trying to burn off just, say, 300 calories in an exercise session is exhausting. Even given the difficulty of mustering the willpower, it’s much easier to eat 300 fewer calories in the first place.
I know! Isn’t it great?!
We are developed so much that losing calories is harder than gaining them! The majority of history has been humans struggling to obtain food.
