And to everypony here. I’m currently done with Frowning Pony’s HERE list. so I’m moving on to the big boy the 14000 one. To save time, I’m only downloading ones that have MLP strictly in it, so pretty much I open the blog and if I don’t see MLP on the front page I’m skipping it for tomorrow. Just want to make sure I save as much strictly “ONLY” pony blogs for right now.

Oh yeah. Most definitely, plenty of other sites with pony NSFW. Like e641 or eghentai or the classic rule34 website.

yes and no. the artists who draw adult art didn’t evaporate, but they might be reluctant to draw adult art now, since tumblr users will be blocked from seeing it. one of the saddest things is when you’re given total freedom, and it doesn’t matter, because your audience is locked off behind a walled garden, where you have to give up your freedom to be allowed to interact. so show your support for your favorite adult artists, and… I dunno how to deal with massive user bases forced to persecute others because of their forum’s policy.

this thread was started by the owner of derpibooru, so I don’t think tsp is going to support their policy on banning adult art any time soon. but fingers crossed. I hope this war on sex won’t end up with every website pressured into banning porn.

I’ve just deleted my Tumblr account which I hope is the right call.
 
Also what about the Tumblr links that are associated with the artist tags? They’re gonna be useless by tomorrow

Does anyone know how much time left before nuke? Is it at morning, or as soon as it becomes 17 in EST?

Probably 7 am, which I don’t care anymore, I’ve saved them the trouble by deleting my account anyway.

Hopefully, it doesn’t come to that. :( This tumblr fiasco has really woken me up, if I find something I like on the internet I’m going to make a back up of it immediately from now on. The internet is evolving, it’s no longer what it once was.

Welp, I’ve done my part by downloading most of my favorite Ask Tumblr blogs; i’m gonna try upload a fair amount of them all in the morning. It’s been a nostalgic ride, so I at least have to thank the barely-big-wigs at Tumblr for forcing me to relive the best of the fandom. Either way, it’s been an honor serving! Let’s just hope we’ve saved up most of what’s going to be lost - it’d be a shame to just see so any amount art be erased, NSFW or otherwise…

This is partially how I felt when a video I liked on Youtube evaporated into the ether. I only have audio from it and found myself longing. So I started sometime back to archive everything I came across that had my interest. So that is why I have some more baser rips of Tumblr(About 900 blogs) from months ago when I was using Jdownloader 2(Highly recommended ripper of most things media. Gets files directly from Youtube. Most programs convert the given video, but I read that JD2 gets the embedded files. Not sure, but every video I have looks wonderful.)

you think you got it bad? I wrote a program to do tag lookups on my local collection of pictures and videos, so I wouldn’t have to use an online service to do it! I got so many stupid youtube videos…

Youtube videos are fun, I have saved my comments on youtube videos for years. It’s always fun to open up my old comments and get a good laugh from the responses. XD

Search tells me this wasn’t linked here yet, so:  
There’s an archive site called Timbr.xxx I found today. Not sure how long they’ve been around and how many blogs they actually grabbed, but since it takes just one random user putting in the name of a blog to have it archived there, chances are good some pony blogs are there, too. Probably worth to check if other sources vanish.

You can use tumblr-tools. The default one works but has limitations, so I recommend this version.
 
Download the code from here if you want to use the above fork (recommended). Usage is the same except that you add -l or –likes. Beware that post and like backup use the same default path, so make sure you change the path/folder to something different to prevent overriding.

If I found some tumblr blogs not on the list but don’t have the time, energy, or resources to preserve them myself what should I do?

Yes definitely put it on another list. I’ll try and squeeze it into my saving tonight. Going to keep saving from that large list as much as possible. Maybe stop around 2:30 AM.
