Rating tags general

A thread for just the rating tags so General Tag Discussion doesn't get mired.

General reminder:
- Always read the tagging guidelines first, they're quite helpful, and improve over time
- When in doubt what rating is correct for your own upload, tag higher rather than lower, it can be fixed later
- Make sure "solo female" doesn't end up on Safe stuff
- Cameltoe and nipple outlines span Safe-Questionable and will be about half the questions, don't be afraid to ask about them
- Cleavage isn't Suggestive alone, but it can get there, and Angela Merkel hasn't gotten there:

I approve of this. Sticking it for now, if another staff member disagrees, they can remove it.

When in doubt, don't change rating at all; hasty ratings changes are a big source of tagwarring, and images rated too high can piss off artists (or cosplayers) greatly because you're accusing them of sexual intent if you don't have something solid to base the rating off of.

It could be my eyes playing tricks on me, but I think I saw a nipple outline in this image.



Does that make it 'suggestive', in that case? Or, am I seeing things? I am willing to admit to it being my fault, but I wanna make sure.

That's a difference of the jiggling of segments of the curve, and if it were a nipple, it'd be massive, so no.

Is it considered 'suggestive' or more to show a character peeing graphically? Is it considered 'suggestive' or more to visually request someone to drink pee?

Depends on whether it's a sexualized context; if so, questionable for the former and suggestive for the latter, but otherwise, both are safe (not that it's very common to be requesting someone drink pee for innocent reasons).

So, should this be 'suggestive', 'questionable' or neither? Because, in the show, I've never seen them introduce such bodily fluids.



It just kind of stuck out to me that that was rated 'safe', because I never thought that such an image would be.

It's in the same vein as "You're a cunt." being safe-rated; the show wouldn't go there, but not for sexual reasons, and we don't have a corresponding rating for vulgarity/offensiveness.

should this get a grotesque rating?

It's close, but I think the way the guts are coming out near the ribcage puts it over the line, yes.

We have "vulgar", "slur", and for more lurid textual non-safeness, upcoming "verbal abuse".

Featureless breasts are safe when not sexualized and suggestive if they are sexualized, correct?

I suppose, but they would usually be suggestive for emphasis of some kind unless they're out of the way.

Hmm, very interesting edge case. I'm thinking it's just barely safe because it's imitating the suggestive hair-over-nipples look but with actual clothing over everything; it's definitely on the borderline either way.
