nipple slip < - > areola slip
 
Both areola slip and nipple slip mean basically the same thing, yet both are tags. One should probably be merged into the other. Nipple slip is the more populous tag, and is the better descriptor in my opinion, so it should probably be the main tag.
 
Also while we’re at it, the surviving tag should probably imply wardrobe malfunction. So:
 
nipple slip or areola slip -> wardrobe malfunction

They’re actually both describing different things. Just that people may misstag them.  
Nipple slip is for when the entirety of the nipple has become visible. While areola slip is for when only the areola is visible, but the actual nipple portion is still covered.
 
Will have both imply wardrobe malfunction though.

If you say so. In my opinion your average person isn’t going to bother distinguishing between the areola and the nipple at large, so I see no point in the separate tags.

Is it really meaningful and important to have them distinct is the better question.

I think it is. It’s a slight difference, but a noticeable one. And sometimes a hint of nipple can be more appealing than the full thing depending on the mood one is in.
 
As I see it: The tags describe two separate things, and are [for the most part] tagged correctly. So I don’t feel there’s a need for any change other than cleanup on them. And adding a definition to each to point out the other tag exists.
