They shouldn’t tag like that, just like we didn’t tag Rarity when it’s only Nightmare Rarity on the image, or Stygian, when it’s only Pony of Shadows on the image.

Looking at the tagging history, yeesh, talk about a mess of a tag war…

 
After this reveal about Li’l Cheese, I changed some of the tags with images of him from “filly” to “colt” but I only did this with screencap pictures.
 
Should I change the tags to “colt” on fanart pictures of him too or leave them as is?

I’d say change it to colt on those too unless they actually rule-63’d him.

I’m unfortunately not surprised. Some people in this fanbase sometimes have the habit of making mountains out of molehills. He’s a colt with eyelashes. So what? Quite a few male characters have them. It’s really no big deal. At least not to me.

I can see a little of where they’re coming from. Since it i going against the character design standard the show has had before now. And I don’t think one off glimpses of background ponies really count. Unless there was more established male characters with eyelashes? If there are then just ignore me~
 
 
Their stubbornness on the subject though: I think that’s just people needing something new to argue about.

In terms of colts, the only other one with eyelashes was the result of an animation error.

Yeah. I can understand a bit in that regard as well. I thought Li’l Cheese was a female before finding out the news.
 
As for any other male characters with eyelashes in their design, there was Seabreeze.
 

 
Outside of him and the other male Breezies, I’m not too sure if there were any other examples. That being said, there have been a variety of both male and female characters in regards to muzzle types despite a majority of males and females having a specific type of snout.
 
And yeah, it’s mostly the stubbornness and the eagerness to argue with people that’s really been annoying to me.

This whole thing is becoming a huge “internet argument” over on Twitter, with Haber now weighing in on it (though on the side of “we didn’t say either way”).

What it seems to have come down to was Jim’s answer didn’t agree with someone’s headcanon, so they literally pinged as many staff as they knew to see if they could get the “right” answer. Tweet chain here.
 
This reminds me of how children will ask one parent if they can do a thing, and when the answer is no they go to their other parent and ask them.
 
PS: “derpi staff” were actually called out by them. This is hilarious drama.

They actually did say, in the script, “colt”, they just didn’t put it in dialog (and what gets animated can differ from non-dialog greatly, like inserting whole different sequences; only dialog seems to be immutable after a script is made).

I wonder why Harbor would have butted in by saying it was ambiguous if the script called him a colt.

Fair point but that was for Kirin. All Breezies regardless of their gender have eyelashes. And with ponies, dragons, and some other species, they have more variety with their designs.

Can we make a “Sunset Shimmer is bisexual” tag so people can filter it rather than coming to be contrarian to every picture that celebrates Katrina Hadley’s declaration, please?

What is keeping them from filtering “sunset shimmer, bisexual”?
 
Besides that, What would this even apply to? Just any image that happens to indicate she’s bisexual?  
Because that’s too many that are already covered by the complex filter I mentioned.
 
Just the recent few directly related to the staff tweet? Because that’s just a few images that will be gone from sight before long, so there’s no real grouping of images that will be affected by its existence or non-existence.
 
And the few people who insist on going to every one of those few images to complain can be reported.
