Seems so. Best as I can tell, that tag seems to refer to situations where Pinkie is depicted with a straight instead of curly mane, which the show tends to equate with sadness and/or depression on her part.
 
In any case, we already have a tag for that anyway.

It does, for the most part. I use pinkamena diane pie, -grimdark, -blood, -fanfic:cupcakes which blocks most of the grimdarky psycho ones. I’m just saying that’s probably why he did it :P

Here’s another one where a single person has arbitrarily tagged (in this case over 250) images with a new tag.

Mind, the tagger added the tag on at least a few stallions/colts, likely as they didn’t pay attention, including one of my own, so that would only further mess things up.
 
The way I see it, redundant tag, and wholly useless unless it also has a counterpart, which is just dumb.

could the new characters from rainbow roadtrip have images associated with their tags like:

This is not a series, it is just a tag that someone decided to randomly make for Nekokevin’s Starlight plushies, it is nothing more. Whoever decided it was not only a series, but to rename it and color it must have been out of their mind.

I imagine because a lot of the images are posed or even animated, making her more of a “character” than just “plushie made by X”.

Right, go past the first page or two. It’s not just random pictures, they are posed in different scenes and often animated.

A lot of them are random pictures tho, and he has other plushies that show up in those too and they have no special tags. It’s still not a series, and if for some reason you want it to be, then untag it from all the unrelated images.

It’s enough of a coherent set of related images that I know what you’re talking about despite not really following it, so having its own tag seems reasonable, but it should really only be applied to ones where the plushies are actually doing something as if they’re characters in a vignette rather than just lying there being plushies.

Seems like it could be appropriate, since an outfit would otherwise already imply the parent tag. So there doesn’t seem like there should be a reason to keep them separate.  
Other thoughts?

Sounds messy, I think with maids, in general you are an actual maid once you put on the outfit, but nursing has actual requirements and the outfits are still rather popular for roleplay in the bedroom.

Only thing I can think of is things like a “sexy nurse/maid costume” where you know for sure the wearer isn’t that profession.
 
And the opposite isn’t really true either—though Nurse Redheart is a nurse, she doesn’t wear a nurse’s uniform all the time.

In a world where people could be expected to actually tag things properly, I’d say keep them separate to differentiate between actual profession and _{~sexy costumes}~, but people can’t even be arsed to add tags like seizure warning, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There’s a pretty clear divide between workwear and kinkwear tho. One is actually expected to be practical and protective.
