Alias "Fennec" to "Fennec Fox"

I’ve tagged older images both ways when I found them, for years, to make sure whoever searched for them could find them no matter which form they preferred to search with. In fact I think I may have been the first person to ever use “fennec fox” as a tag here. Despite that, of the two I think they should all be changed to just “fennec” with an alias so using “fennec fox” as a search term would still find them.
 
First, “fennec” has primacy; the first tag for “fennec” pre-dates me adding “fennec fox” to it just to ensure that searches would find it. “Fennec” is also just the Berber word for “fox.” And it’s completely unambiguous; there’s no “fennec cat” or “fennec owl” that it could be confused with if “fox” wasn’t specified. Lastly, it’s shorter. As long as someone typing “fennec fox” in search will reach images of fennecs, I think “fennec” is the better tag.

Yeah, but they’re all just named after the fox.
