Hundreds of decayed plaguewalkers soon pile up at choke-points, literally choking up the streets and alleyways, as they’re killed while climbing above the corpses of their kin.
 
An enormous earth-pony, accustomed to the occupation of steel-working, runs ahead of Mayo, perching atop rubble from a destroyed cornerside shop, while hefting a pair of large autorifles in both arms, shouting in an accent one would almost confuse for an ork, if they’d ever heard one; “WE, ARE, HIVE-BOYS!”
 
Mobs in unison; “HIVE-BOYS!”
 
Steel-worker; “KAMICRAZY HIVE-BOYS!”
 
Mobs; “HIVE-BOYS!”

The noise brought more undead…which Mayo happily unloaded lasers into.

The grim parade of armed living ponies, and one dracony, continued to lurch forward. Leaving behind decaying corpses and pieces of corpses. The smell was unbearable and many soldiers had put their gas masks on to avoid the foul stench

With more and more undead slain by gunfire choking up certain spots, the cyber-mastiffs, returned from the hospice with promethium refilled, lock down the lengths of conquered street-space won by the armed mob by setting on fire the corpse-piles aggregated at the choke-points. Now, they would all just have to wait for the PDF to arrive at the secured lower-hive blocks around the hospice, while dealing with any undead still slipping through from smaller avenues and alleyways.

Finally the PDF have arrived at the Hospice, their vehicles reeked of decay and were covered in blood

Mayo, taking their arrival as a sign to get going, began heading for the north-west districts for additional purging machines.

The hospitallers work as fast as they can to suppress fires at locations necessary for the convoy to move through; one of them even washes away some of the gore on the vehicles by hosing it down with a blue-taped firehose.
 
At the hospice main entrance, a red-taped firehose is unrolled out to vehicles stopped at a designated spot for promethium refueling. As the vehicles are topped off, the hose is raveled back into the hospice.
 
A curia-advance then rushes to the vehicle rode by Glare and Morgan; “We’ll get the mobs to follow behind you in support, with those fire-spitting cyber-hounds to incinerate any kills you folks tally up. When we get close to the Arbites Precinct, we’ll break off toward northwest to the construction sites. There’s something there that the Almoness-Advance thinks we can use.”

“Understood. And once we get to the arbites, we will need to relieve and recruit the surviving arbites, and stock up on ammo.”

After the vehicles refueled…and after the guardsmen were done puking…their purge continued towards the Arbites HQ. The Arbites had been doing their best to hold off the hordes, using their shields to form makeshift walls and firing at the hordes from above.

Rather than immediately break off, the mobs and cyber-mastiffs lead by the hospitallers assist the enforcers and PDF with securing the area around their precinct, doing much the same strategy as they did back at the hospice. Refuels of promethium are now recieved though from the arbites headquarters, after explaining to and convincing them of the newly found roles of their cybernetic K9 units.

Moving again with the PDF, and giving up on the construction site plan for now, the scene develops into a cavalcade of mobilized destruction, as the armed mobs, hospitallers, following squads of now-accompanying arbites, and cyber-mastiffs all throw around nearly every common form of weaponry available to the Imperium at undead hordes attracted to the convoy;
 
From fire-axes and chainswords, autoguns and gang-stubbers, lasguns and illegally-modified “shotlas” blasters, to jetting-plumes of promethium fire, to the equally-numerous varieties of shot-loads now from the arbites enforcers’ scatterguns, to even the Curia-Advance’s thundering bolter-fire.

The convoy left a trail of destruction and decay in its wake, with many hoping that they won’t have to clean up this giant mess when it’s all over. But despite the grisly sight, many were relieved that they felt something they haven’t felt in a long time…hope. The seemingly unstoppable horde was now being crushed under the treads of tanks and the still living citizens who cowered in buildings now take the fight to the horde.

Every so often though, lasgun or stubber injuries, even resulting in a few mob casualties, crop up. While most are easily tended to by accompanying hospitallers, and put off by most as friendly fire, surviving victims themselves swear the shots were fired by living individuals interspersed within especially-dense congregations of undead.
 
Despite this revelation, no one has yet killed any armed lively phantoms supposedly hiding within undead tides.
