The second step the agent took, they saw a person step out onto the hallway, though not what they expected to see.
The agent stopped in his tracks, looking at the being.
“This coldness is the ideal temperature for this facility. You wear that piece of plastic on you because you are scared of her enlightenment and now Rob seeks to betray me by joining you… Well, whoever you are I will not allow this. You must feel her. To be as close to her as I have been, just like Rob.”
“You’re in the late stages of change, judging by that I can make a safe assumption that this must have started a few days ago. You found her, didn’t you?”
“I found her. Me, him, and that dumb bitch wanted to find out why the facility was feeling colder than it should be. Thought it was something wrong mechanically but I was the one who went into the shaft and found her all alone. Unresponsive. I had to be down there for at least twenty minutes and I was cold at first, especially when I got out of there. I didn’t feel well but then I heard her and felt her enlightenment. For days I tried to ignore but how could I ignore if I was her knight? He helped me rescue her and now I come for him, only to see he is a traitor.”
“Yeah, you’re not yourself anymore.”
“Though, I knew you would come…”
“What?”
“It’s what we seers see. A glimpse into the future and I’ve been preparing for this day.”
