I don’t know how to indicate Out Of Character, but I assume anything posted here in this thread is that by definition.
 
I’m curious - do any of you LARP or play D&D or anything like that? Because I do a lot of role playing in gaming, but I don’t do any role playing other than that, so I’m curious what the cross over is.
 
I guess I’m wondering if I’m not interested or have no “hooks” for role playing because I get it through gaming? Or if it’s just a different kind of “hook”?

Correct. Most people use () or some variation thereof in threads, however.

Aaaaand sometimes? If it’s text, it’s just a faster version of the forums plus dice, but otherwise, it’s kinda different. You’re actually the first one to ask that so there’s that much.

Think of it as, like, “multi-authored stories”, where each “author” takes control of their character(s).
 
I think the motivation here is that roleplay participants can use literary creativity to carefully compose written words into IC(In-Character) actions and speech. _{(so it’s comparable to, say, text adventures(Saints Row: The Third - Text Adventure), like “”Zork[](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zork), but even more flexible as personal creativity and determination can achieve.)}
 
On this site, participants can also search the art gallery for images to use as illustrations within context of roleplay.
 

There’s also bluelinks that can be used to add stuff like music(Cave - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Music Extended) for added aesthetic approaches, tone, n’stuff.
 
For off-site acquired visuals, there’s google images, ezgif.com, imgur video-to-gif, etc

What makes roleplay on this site so unique compared to other places, is definitely the amount of flexibility it offers in post-making. %(it can all be squared away easily to look well-organized, as well as appear pleasant to read and look at, with the lower-left corner of the written-text-box able to be drawn down pretty far to get a good inspection of post-composition. The preview function is also preddy neat.)
