Guard: Go ahead, your majesty.  
The guard opens the door, and the group walks through it, down a flight of stairs, into a room filled with unicorns, all of whom are working on working out certain kinks in Project Amethyst. One of them, a unicorn with golden yellow fur and a butterscotch yellow mane, approaches the group.  
Golden Gears: Grettings, princess. Is this the group we’ve heard so much about?

Shortly after the whole group entered, a light brown Pegasus wearing a slick leather jacket stumbled in, the smell of some sort of hard liquor coming from him. ”Sorry I’m late princess…” he knocked into a table, cussing as he did. “Got caught up in… traffic…” He gave a slight smile (Roll for luck) “Either way, HIC I’m here now ain’t I?”

Bytes: Oh, Celestia dammit, Toffee! This is an important event, we can’t get drunk! Not that I’d ever drink, but still! And how many times have I told you to quit the habit? Think about your poor livers! Ugh, and the smell!  
He looks to Cadence.  
Bytes: * sigh * Princess, this is Toffee. Despite him looking like a total jalopy, he’s actually pretty helpful sometimes.  
Cadence eyes him warily while Shining Armour glares at him.  
Cadence: Alright, I’ll take your word for it.

The pegasus gives a shit-eating grin to the princess and her husband. “Nice to HIC meet y’all… lot less good looking then everyone makes ya out to be…” He shrugs, looking over at his team member. “My livers are fine, and I’ll get a HIC shower when we get there.” He then gives her a smirk. “And how many times have I told ya to stop being a buzzkill Bytes?”

Golden Gears: Oh, no, it’s alright. Every group has its flaws. I assume you’re all filled in on the basic idea of Project Amethyst?  
Bytes: Oh, wait, Toffee, you weren’t here for it…  
Bytes whispers everything that’s happened to Toffee.

“i formally request that that walking liability is kept as far away from this project as the size of the world allows. he will probably end up trying to turn the empire into an alcohol exporter at the most harmless. he cannot be allowed any opportunity at all to change history.”

He groans, curling his hooves around the area of impact. “Yeah, maybe if they weren’t such big, evil, deceitful, lying bitches then I would.” He glares at the changeling, scowling. “Why should I fucking trust them after what they’ve done to us?” HIC

Bytes: Ay, forget it. Fighting isn’t gonna solve anything. Sorry, Cerus. How many times has it been now? 27? Geez.  
Bytes redirects his attention to Golden Gears.  
Bytes: AAAAAAAANYWAYS, continue? Sorry.  
Golden Gears: It’s fine. Really. So, your group will go back in time to when Sombra still ruled the Crystal Empire to take him out before the Empire disappears. That’s the basic explanation. However, you must do this expertly, and without Sombra thwarting you first.  
Bytes: Okay…..so how should we do this? Stop Sombra, I mean?

(Canon for what? The Crystal Empire? I was thinking the normal canon: Sombra enslaved ponies, then made the Empire disappear and cursed ponies’ memories. With some slight blood and gore in the middle. Are there any other canons I should consider?)
