Thats… the exact point I was trying to make. Fallout was niche when 1 and 2 came out (alongside the shitty spinoffs), but as soon as 3 turned the series into a mainstream hit, that’s when the fans started bitching at each other.

The Fallout fanbase has been doing this since 3 specifically, with New Vegas only further amplifying the divide. The old fans from the slightly niche era don’t like the new games, so they shit on them and prop up the old games, while the people who came into the series via the new games feel attacked by this, and start shitting on the old games out of spite.

Its the exact same thing that happened to the Sonic series, barring the niche thing (it’s been a mainstream franchise since day one).

Goddamn, why is it that whenever a slightly niche series gets mainstream attention, the fanbase suddenly starts acting worse than the one for Sonic the fucking Hedgehog?

If and when Merga and Cordelia reuinite in the inevitable Freedom Planet 3.
