Saw this over on Tumblr, and I just had to share it. Fox News is inadvertently campaigning for Democrats without realizing it. If you look up “self-own” in a dictionary, this is what you’ll find.

I’d say it pretty much is. Both this and the state lawmaker I posted about that wants to make pornography illegal in the state are great examples of that.

On a more light-hearted note however, Dusty Deevers sounds like a perfect pornstar name.

This state senator in Oklahoma wants to criminalize pornography. Clearly, this lawmaker has the constitutional literacy of a potato.

Not only that, but this also makes it as clear as glass that the GOP has learned nothing from Roe’s overturn, drag bans or book bans. How can they possibly think criminalizing internet pornography will fare any better? The USA tried doing something similar with alcohol through the Prohibition Act too, and how do you think that turned out?

No surprise there. They frame the laws like that so that if you dare criticize them, you’ll risk appearing to support exposing children to pornography, which 1) nobody would support anyway for obvious reasons, and 2) will be fatal to a political candidate’s chances of winning an election.

So, in short, it’s another round of “think of the children” moral panic virtue signaling.

Have these morons ever heard of parental controls? It’s not that hard to set up parental controls so their children can’t access adult content. It’s called adult content for a reason.

Furthermore, how can they possibly think banning pornography will be popular or even effective? Prohibition wasn’t effective, and this ain’t gonna be much different from that. Not only that, but you know how overturning Roe v. Wade has hurt the GOP in every election since? Banning pornography, on the other hand, would be a political death sentence for the GOP, because pornography is the one thing everyone likes, so that would be messing with everyone’s constitutional rights.

Everyone who’s situated anywhere on the political spectrum has consumed pornography at some point in their lives, regardless of whether they’re willing to publicly admit it.

Not long after Trump was given his fourth indictment, Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted a picture of an upside down American flag. What the hell kinda display of patriotism is that?

These are the same people that shit on Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the national anthem and accused him of disrespecting the American flag. And now we have a sitting member of Congress literally disrespecting the American flag.

Sounds like a pot calling the kettle black to me.

Rebranding “Twitter” to “X” has got to be the dumbest move Musk has made since he took the reins at Twitter. He might have just precipitated its fade into obscurity, not that that wasn’t already happening to begin with.

Same goes for changing Twitter’s logo to the “X” logo. You’d think someone running a website would know better than to change the logo of said website to one already trademarked by someone else.

Elon did another stupid thing at Twitter. He made it so that now you can’t even browse Twitter or do anything at all on it without having a Twitter account, and now he’s set a daily limit on how many posts users can read.

It’s almost like he bought Twitter for no reason other than to destroy it. And he’s doing a damn good job at that.

With all the bullshit Elon Musk has done with Twitter since he bought it, the post reading limits being just the most recent example, I feel glad I deleted my Twitter account. There’s nothing that could happen that would make me even consider going back.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I’m convinced that these porn-passport laws are being drafted and sent to legislators by VPN companies so they can increase VPN sales.

And yeah, it’s pretty funny that they think porn-passport laws like that are gonna stop anybody from looking at porn. People who wanna beat their meat to porn will always find a way to do it, even if it means jumping through some hoops like using a VPN or going to sites like Derpibooru that are hosted outside the US and thus not subject to US laws.
