A lot of Crypto wallets have monthly payment support, but yeah it’s much harder to set up on the recipient end. There are smart contracts which can do it on the Ethereum network.

The problem is that lumping everything that isn’t communism in as “capitalism”, as the blog post does, just ignores all possible nuance. Man’s default state on the Earth is that he forages for fruit and nuts, and hunts wild animals. Poverty is not a creation of capitalism – it pre-dates anything resembling capitalism by about 100,000 years.
 
Ultimately there are two modes by which people can interact: by choice or by force. We can either produce and consume with money, or we can produce and consume at the end of a whip, a chain, or a gun. I’m in favor of money.

How dare we bring up an actual example of systematic discrimination in a discussion about systematic discrimination? For clarity, I was talking about college admissions. No intelligent workplace would do something like this because it’d bankrupt them, only a bunch of ideologues on campus.

That’s true of all groups though. You’re a member of a religious (or secular) group, a geographical community, a racial group, a sex group, a gender group, a generational group… the fact that the individual is the single ‘group’ unique to you – the smallest minority you belong to – does not make it less important. It’s the most important group you belong to because it differentiates you from everyone else. Only this group accounts for your hopes, dreams, fears, likes, dislikes, opinions, etc and when people forget that, they start to draw those things from group identities which is bad for all of us.

One person is a member of the group ‘me’. That group has one advocate, me, and definitely doesn’t get any special rules. The group may not be systematically oppressed (in the modern United States), but it isn’t systematically advantaged either. It doesn’t have exclusive scholarships, doesn’t get a boost to its SAT score to go to college, and definitely doesn’t have a wildly popular mass movement proclaiming how much its life matters (in fact, by including the group in a statement like “all lives matter”, one might be committing wrongthink). You are free to commit hate crimes against the group by mocking and insulting it, punching down against a tiny minority.

Democracies can be forceful or even tyrannical too. There’s a reason the US is not a pure democracy, but rather a democracy constrained by “God-given rights” which the majority is not allowed to touch.

Would it be very challenging to set up anti-spam for low-effort spammers? Just preventing double posting (making 2 posts in a row) and making the person edit their last post instead would be a quick fix, no?

Yes, because it’s imposed by force. If a bunch of people want to live in a commune or start a cooperative business or charity, I have no issue with that as long as I’m not forced to do the same. Government force kills the individual.

Socialists and communists come in a wide variety, from people who just want to live in a commune or start a cooperative business to people willing to use violence or political power to achieve what they see as the right outcome. There are liberal socialists, there are totalitarian socialists, and there’s pretty much everything in between.
 
Nazi economics definitely had more in common with the center-left than the right, but that wasn’t the defining factor of the party, or the defining issue people have with Nazis. Ethno-nationalism is just a garbage ideology regardless of what economic structures you attach to it.

Pointless insults aside, I don’t expect the battle between freedom and tyranny to end any time soon, we’ve been waging it for about the last 10,000 years. It’s just unfortunate that pony got caught in the crossfire. At this point, I don’t expect the compromise to prevent future pressures on the site to “pick a side” in political arguments, only a flat-out refusal to do so next time might have a chance.

I’m not going to say you’re a mole or a spy for the mods. I do think when you look at everything the woke mob is doing, that making a stand for free speech as early and as forcefully as possible is the only correct decision.
 
I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with horrible things from the alt-right. No one should live in fear of losing their life, family, or livelihood in what’s supposed to be a free society.
 
I know a lot of Republicans and Democrats who don’t feel like they can speak any more. It’s un-American. People have bled dry for our rights and we’re far too quick to surrender the rights of people we disagree with on both extremes.
