“Portrait”.

They were spamming one word comments on lots of images, sometimes naming one body part in the image, like “Wing”, or naming one character in the image, or stating one fact about the image, like that it was from a particular episode, or what episode a character in the image was in next, or what episodes they were not in.

They are canvassers. Their role is purely non-discretionary.

Their only job is to add the votes from the counties, and agree that they added the numbers correctly, nothing more. It’s just math - their step doesn’t include any kind of “are these votes valid or not” decision making.

Even if there were a recount scheduled, this step is required to get the total, since no body prior to this has the right to add the votes from two counties together.

They literally just add the votes from each county together to create the total numbers for the state.

If one or two of them refuse to add the votes together, or to certify the votes were added together for each county, then a court will order them to do it.

This “refusing to add the votes” has happened before in Michigan. The last time involved some sort of abortion related addendum to some county’s ballot. And a judge ordered them to do their fucking job, and they did it.

Here’s an article from the Detroit Free Press about it if you want to learn more about how odd this situation is.

It used to be 3 for staff as well, but we lifted the staff limit because some of us use the reporting queue to track users who ask for help, or to track progress on sub-projects of larger reports or projects, so for a while I think I was opening as many as a dozen reports a day.

But, for non-staff, yeah, it’s still only 3.

Taking part in NaNoWriMo?

English has 3 “moods”, or “clause types”: indicative, imperative, and subjunctive. Subjunctive Mood is third-person possible, but not actual. It’s a weird fit for English because English doesn’t have a subjunctive verb form (like Japanese, which has 15 verb forms), but you can do it, and English speakers do it all the time without thinking about how odd it is.

Examples are “I would not do that if I were you” (normally in English you would say “if I was you”, but in the subjunctive form you say “if I were you”.

In this clause form the verbs “are, is, am” become “be”, usually following a word like “important”, for example “I am writing” becomes “it is important I be writing”.

Really common examples in English are “Save The Queen”, “Bless You”, and “May the 4th be with you”.

When writing, imperative mood “go write” is usually better than subjunctive mood “if I were you, I would write”.

Subjunctive is something you hear a lot in the Midwest of America or in Japan, where people “suggest” behavior rather than “tellin” people what to do.

Like, in the Midwest of the US people tend to say “You know, a lot of folks wouldn’t weld next to a gas tank, eh?” instead of the more imperative “You stupid fucker.”

Yes. But usually X-Files style stuff.

If you mean Samhain, yes, very much so! ^__^

If you mean Halloween and Trick Or Treating, then yes, very much so! ^__^

If you mean All Hallow’s Eve, then … less so? I guess? I mean, I put out a candle and a bowl of milk and a cup of Scotch for the Pookas and Fairies … does that count?

pffft - no. I’ve never done any marketing, or sales for that matter … Just lots of standing up in front of crowds and evangelizing. I’m a horrible marketing person. I had a tendency to sell people empty boxes for $80,000. Each. Sometimes that’s illegal in some countries I can’t go back to.

That said, our customers always seemed very happy with their purchase.

With Hasbro the most I got into them was talking to them about paper and printing, and later sticking my nose into their legal hornet’s nest to see if I could either license the characters for a tarot deck, or … alternatively … sell them an MLP themed tarot deck.

That actually went shockingly well. I’m completely sincere - if you have something you might want to license from or sell Hasbro, try it. It’s a fascinating experience. They are quite unlike any other company I’ve worked with, outside of someplace like Square Enix. They’re more of a “Let’s try it and see what happens!” company then places like Sony.

Doesn’t look like the artist badge is sourced to the front, I’m seeing it at the end of some badge lists as well. Since the artist badge was added last, it’s appearing first, so if you removed everything else then added it back with the artist badge first, it might work, but stuff like the wallet was a one time thing so there would be no way for us to restore those. Some of this might not matter, too - it might just be SQL order, which can be a real mystery sometimes.

Theoretically, if you delete all of them then re-add them it might change the order. That used to work on BoR at least. But the original dates would be lost, and that presumes all the badges are still available to be added back. Some of those I think aren’t available in the tool any more …

Also … don’t artist badges sort to the front automagically? That way they don’t wrap off the end I think …

Unless you want to try SCIENCE! someone with eyes on the source should probably give a canonical answer.

Given Hasbro’s stable of freelance lawyers, if they wanted us gone, we’d be gone. That said, if Hasbro asks us to not host something, like full page scans of the IDW comics, we are happy to comply. They have been extraordinarily kind and benevolent to this fandom. If MLP were a Disney franchise, this ride would have ended years ago.

It means your co-workers optionally can see what game you’re playing while you’re supposed to be at work.

Bonus! If you are NOT at work and just playing games with friends, your co-workers and clients can see that you’re ignoring them!

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
