Opinions upcoming:

I prefer left aligned layout and honestly if we have two layouts, we should make sure both look good for what they are.
I prefer it when the tags stretch the whole length of the page.
I also prefer the Description box actually say what it’s for above the description.

1. people who have a high ppi screen  
2. people who have a high resolution but low ppi
    
   People with high ppi, anything you do to make the site work at 1080p or 720p will also work for them as they are going to hit 50-100% scaling anyway
    
   but for high res low ppi, you are basically going to make it so what would currently be 4-5 lines of tags now turns into 1
    
   honestly, every other booru I go to has the tags listed horizontally, and seeing how many tags an image can become its for a good reason. if you are able to do this and have them listed to the left of an image I think it would be good going forward.
    
   otherwise yes, by all means expand them, but allow a user clamp on how wide it can be at its max.

So, in regards to the metabar, there are some important questions to answer in regards to what everyone actually wants in general and especially in regards to large monitor sizes:
1 Is the current button size okay when things are left-aligned? If you need to zoom in to make them okay, does that zooming in cause problems elsewhere?
2 Would it be okay with the current spacing with very wide buttons? See here for a slightly incomplete mockup (1920 pixel-wide monitor, browser fullscreen)
3 Should there be any spacing? If so, how much?
4 Is the centered layout as it is right now okay?

 
Personally, I like left aligned (I have no idea how to change alignment, if its an option on site would love to look at it)
 
however, the file type I would like right next to the uploaders name, because they uploaded it, what did they upload  
Personally, the arrow buttons are nearly useless and I cant imagine what use they have to most people, would it be possible to move these to the search area, as that seems more important to their function than anything else.  
with that all that is left on the top layer would be subscribe, galleries, and the download/view buttons, moving the view and download to be lower on the author page would be nice.

Now I have to imagine how this would work for centered, and even then, I can’t imagine this being profoundly different,  
This way you have the top line being all about the on site actions, you want to like favorite dislike see other galleries or subscribe, the second line would be when the image uploaded, who uploaded it along with the image download buttons and viewing the image on its own.
 
as for why not have two… how much is this really going to change? personally I use gmail, and the moment they made it look like hell and function like crap I went over to html mode, im feature locked in it, but all the functions I want work, im just not able to access new ones. I can say this, and I believe I speak for a good number of people, I despise change for change sake especially ui change for change sake. It’s one of those things that people begrudgingly get use to if given no other option (see youtube, chrome, or most other major sites that change things) but people absolutely hate it.
 
I don’t know modern web design, back when I learned it it was flash and html based with frames, but if im right things like the ui for a page are largely modular, you are just setting a small script to tell it where to place the modular elements. so long as you don’t profoundly change everything and how everything is accessed, maintaining an old version of the ui and a new one should be trivial.
 
as for spaces, I don’t like spacing being obnoxious, give it maybe 5 pixels so you don’t misclick something is all you need

I realize that 1024x768 isn’t exactly a common screen resolution in [current year], but this seems like it’s maybe a bit of an extreme reaction to 110% zoom?

This has nothing to do with mobile, it’s a work in progress, and is intended to change soon.

1. I search images regularly based on rating, so I want to always be able to see the rating it help to know how high a bar I want to set  
2. I want downvotes to be visible,  
3. If you add a hide function, It should be op in or out from the user not the default  
4. now because of the ‘brigade’ of downvotes or upvotes I have never seen it, so either mods are doing a good job or someone thinks they are art gods and those lesser then them are just hating.

   so in 50 images and 8 days, 1 image semi unjustly got downvoted, and even then they were baiting it. now lets go through 10 pages, not image by image and see how many days back it take me and how many image I would say are unjustly there (and weren’t also updated in very large numbers too)
    
   (im noticing all downvote pony images are downvoted to hell, not sure if its a joke or if they just hate the message in some… hard to tell)

5. a lot of people dont like anal

7. very few people like diapers  
8. even less like shit  
9. or fecal matter at all

    now just for another view, lets go the default 100 downvotes and see where that takes me after 5 pages, it goes back to 2 years ago, it took 2 years to make 5 pages of -100
     
    Now let’s look at upvotes at 30 for 10 pages and see if something doesn’t deserve to be there based on content or quality alone.
     
    one with content I disagree with that is only visible after you open it, so more likely to be downvoted.
     
    besides that, nothing unjustly upvoted, but this only took me back 1 day apposed to downvotes that took it back 2 months.
     
    now a 5 page 100 vote, 2 days apposed to 2 years.
     
    Ok, I cant be nice so apologies if I hurt anyone fee fee, but if you make content with shit, diapers, or anal you know people wont like it and downvote it. people fucking hate mouthpieces, they hate poorly drawn images, and if you mix any of these together you get even more downvotes.
     
    Oh, and people absolutely fucking hate politics, sorry that not everyone is on your side, nearly all the issues are not black and white.
     
    If you cant handle someone not liking your image, go to tumblr or facebook where no one can be negative and your hugbox will be almost all outside opinion free, I honestly think this site would be better off without you stirring shit as those are the only images I saw that were wrongly downvoted (but I can still understand 100% why they were downvoted)
     
    Now its 100% possible mods here are very good at their jobs, and that anything where someone up and down brigaded was dealt with, if any mod could give an example image and what it was like both for positive and negative, that would help me alot with my opinion, but as it stands.
     
    we should see up votes  
    we should see down votes  
    we should have the option to hide images if that function is there, but hiding downvotes by default  
    we shouldn’t be un subbed, if there is a conversation on an image we don’t like we should be able to participate, and if we are VERY shitty about it, a mod can ban us then.
     
    wow this got a bit rambly and was made over the course of I want to say hours while doing other things, I think it convey my feeling on the issue though.
