The clack of hoofsteps goes in sync with the click of a ticking clock. “There’s no other way- Just no other way…” The industrious alicorn, Twilight sparkle, paces the floors of the castle of friendship, the sun not even up yet, causing a darker atmosphere for the usually inviting castle. “I have to figure this out, get this right some how…” She glances over at a strange silhouette in the corner of the room. Biting her lip and glancing around, she stops pacing and trots her way over to the mysterious figure. With one ounce of concentration and ease of mind mustered, she focuses the energy and thought to her horn. It soon starts to glow the magnificent, bright, violet red hue. She opens her eyes to the newly found light that scantily lights up the room. Her eyes scan what was just a dark mass before, seeing what is now a neat little stand with a glass case, an old musty book inside. She slowly opens the case and opens the book to the desired page.
“The Elements of Harmony… For many eras, these archaic relics have furnished as the corporeal phenomenon of Equestria’s highest imperative fundamentals: Generosity, Loyalty, Kindness, Honesty, laughter, and the magic of friendship as such…” Her hoof trails over and she hums, “be that as it may, only distinct species can utilize the Elements’ capacity… or at least… scarce details on them exist in Equestrian literature…right..?” She groans, slamming her face into the book, pondering. “And many questions remain unanswered, but there is one above all the rest that I have: what divine or organic aspects are needed to grant a pony to access the relics bearing the Elements that conserve the world, and thus encourage that the world is not demolished by the seeds of a dystopian world? …What does it take to keep harmony safe..? Just what…?”
Twilight Sparkle rubs her chin, worrying herself. “I don’t know, but with celestia as my witness, I intend to find out… Maybe I should make my own studies on the Elements and their users in order to reach my goals… even if ponies say it’s childish or fanatical… I have to do this… I don’t care how far I will have to go if it means I can preserve harmony and protect the future. I need to stop fooling around. Our whole lives depend on this. right now…” Twilight Sparkle, foraging around through a plethora of books, A couple on history, like: ancient ponies who had influenced the Pre-Equestrian era. She already had a few on a cart that she was pulling with her had to deal with individual views of pony health. The top one was by itself, showing its value, Twas one called: Equine Emotions: Psychological Studies on the Mind.”
“I hope that I will have everything I need… The others hadn’t given me much else…So hopefully I’ll find some points here… something valid, something good, Something that would present to me what I need, because, So far nothing. Nothing to precisely state outright, but to give some pokes, just some plans… anything to lead me… What to do for this plan… I don’t think anypony has ever tried this before! Did they? Could they? No… T-They never could… never would… but I know one thing… I need to.” the pony thought. “ I have to do this, I need to do this…” The alicorn searched the empty area, the only sound to be heard being the movements of her own hooves or the panicked breathing, her heart beating hard.
The silence is broken by a large, quickly, denounced creak, spooking her. She sharply turned to the area of hoofsteps from the darkness. In an act of panic and defense against the unknown, she charges her horn, showing no fear and in a hollow voice, she firmly states, “Show yourself!” “Twilight, Twilight, relax it’s me.” The light turns on, blinding Twilight, causing her to shield her eyes. She yells in sudden pain and fear and shoots a beam forward, hearing a yelp and the sound of books falling. “Twilight, It’s me, Spike!” They exclaimed. “Turn that light off..!” She commands. Spike does so with a, “Sheesh… Sorry.”
