Speculation: people originally used it as a joke a la donut steel (itself a joke about people who tell people not to steal their crazy OCs), and then people who are insecure about their OCs thought it was serious and started using it as such. I think it’s a pretty useless tag.
 
Ah ok, sounds just like what coulda happened.
 
Yeah, it’s pointless to the extreme, but if it’s being used for something like that, then I can just ignore it. Hell, blocking the keyword wouldn’t even help, it’d just hurt.
