You’d be surprised how un-self-aware, or lack of socialization skills some fans are. Heck, I’ve seen fans here admit to being into all kinds of strange kinks here openly, and such. I saw a guy state he wanted to do unspeakable things with a real horse.
 
Yeah, while the media greatly exaggerated the situation, sadly we can’t deny that some strange “nazi bronies” exist.  
That one that was arguing with me, and also a Jewish brony (that I mentioned on a previous page) definitely wasn’t some faker/troll, as I don’t think a troll could easily fake all his B.S. “mustache guy did nothing wrong” arguments, paragraphs, and such without cussing, being rude, or some hint of “just trying to offend everybody.”  
In fact, oddly he was quite polite to us, (despite me even mentioning I have Jewish ancestry, he didn’t get personal, or anything) despite his ignorant statements.
 
I can’t find the image he was on, as it was years ago, but seeing as I’ve had alot of experience with internet trolls, I have a feeling he wasn’t faking.

After these articles hit pieces, i’m not deny that their real nazis on this site. Since their constantly saying it a home for Nazis. I’m saying it downright ridiculous for someone to say “i’m a Nazi and i’m here to run a neo-nazi party on this brony art site.” Right out the open, unironically.

Which is why I cannot talk about them in any detail, as that would literally put their lives in danger.
And that why I find it to be ridiculous…  
People who are in extremist groups are always silence about being in that group. They don’t just out right say it in the open who they are.

Are you sitting here, posting over and over again, to say that nazis aren’t real? No proof or evidence, just repetition? I don’t think that’s helpful. It’s a nice thought, but not true.  
Real Nazis on this site is 100% believable. Hell the people I’ve met here have been all kinds of strange. Like, might go to jail kind of strange. Which is why I cannot talk about them in any detail, as that would literally put their lives in danger.  
We’re an amazing fandom full of the best people, the most creative fans. Everyone wants to be part of this group. All sorts. Nazis wouldn’t even make a top 10 list of weirdest groups hiding in this fandom. Let’s not forget that we also home the Fluffy Pony fandom. That’s just what happens when your fandom is this successful and huge.
 
The mod team have done amazing work to prevent all of these worst aspects and problem people from becoming the image of the fandom. The media, have gone out to undo all that work. I can only imagine how soul crushing this has been. Hmm, to make this relatable, imagine cleaning your room as your parents come in, and then they point out a dirty sock you left, and ground you for it for ‘having a filthy room’. It isn’t just unfair, but it really is going to make you wonder if being so clean was really worth it at all. But it is worth it. This place in reality has been a paradise for so so so many people that needed it. You can’t even turn your head in this forum without seeing someone who had their life improved thanks to Derpibooru’s community and services. It just brings us all together. I wish someone in this fandom with some media power could pump out some good articles. We’re a genuinely amazing group. We did just have that charity art pack that broke records too, that was nice. But I wonder if the media are going to care at all?
 
The only lesson to be taken from this, is that we all need to remember to ignore these articles. Bullies with microphones, they still should be ignored. I hope the mod team from now on remembers that the people who matter, the users, already know these articles are bullshit. No more articles should be given the attention that the first one was.

It’s good to know that even when someone literally says that they are a member of a neo-nazi political party and want to advertise their next march/gathering/event to support their -nazi candidates running in their neo-nazi party on this site, that some of you are so biased that you pass it off as role-playing or ‘for the lulz’.
I guess for some of you everyone chanting “Jews will not replace us” in Charlottesville were just role-playing.
Let me explain it to you better since you’re having a hard time.
 
People just don’t go around and called themselves a extremist group for the sake of being “unironically.” They either are or aren’t. People who are calming that are either trolling, trying to rid up people, or their told to act as this character.

I was asked about the last 2 months. I was not asked about the last 8 years.
 
They’ve been problems forever. There’s never been a year here where we didn’t deal with nazi shit in one way or another. Two years ago, a third of staff took weeks or months off because we were so burnt out from nazi shit. Also in August. It’s like Pride Month rolls into some sort of endless feud on the site about nazi-themed images and then by August everyone is so burnt out that people just take a month off.
 
where was the outcry before all this nonsense
 
I don’t know. Do you know? Seems to me that TheAtlantic article was a trigger of some sort. What do you think?

There’s more than a million unique visitors to this site every month, and newspapers and other media sites have been advertising all over the planet that this is a ‘safe haven’ for nazis and racists for two months.
Why is it so hard to believe that there might actually be some literal neo-nazis showing up here thinking this is some sort of welcome home for them now?

How many neo-nazis have you seen in past 2 months on this site?
 
Just speaking for myself, there have been 6 individuals who I’ve worked with who I thought were just trolling but found out they actually are card-carrying neo-nazies, 5 of whom were asking to promote their groups via ponified versions of their logos or promoting political events, and 1 who was just trying to push their political agenda on LGBTQ images or in the Tartarus thread. Some of them, quite sincerely, are terrified that the users of this site will find out who they are and will come after them. 5 of them are still users on the site. 1 of them is permanently banned, but keeps ban evading. There might be more, but that’s just the ones I worked with in support or PMs. So, maybe 2 or 3 a month, but we’re seeing it more now because of the elections coming up in the US. Every time the US or Europe has elections we start getting more and more people trying to either post their own political propaganda ponifications of their platform, or arguing that we should take down all the ‘recognized and not outlawed political party’ themed images ‘because fairness’.
 
Why would a neo-nazi want to recruit a fucking brony into their ranks?
 
Apparently because they are bronies themselves, but now that Russia Today and Breitbart and the New York Journal have declared this site to be hotbeds of political discourse that welcome Nazis and racists, it seems that some people somehow have gotten the clever idea that this is a good place to find recruits.

Agreed. And we keep seeing more and more sites roll out clickbait articles regurgitating what’s already been said. As the US elections heat up we’ll almost certainly see more.
 
When Breitbart talked about this site, I was kind of hoping that President Trump would tweet about us on the toilet some morning. That would be one for the scrapbook. But, alas, no.

In this case, I’ve been talking to that one person for maybe 2 years now trying to explain why their political party’s posters are not allowed here, and why we aren’t going to delete “everyone else’s political posters because all or nothing ‘fairness’”. So, yeah, that one person definitely is unironic about it, based on their past uploads and the comments they’ve made that we’ve had to delete. They’re literally a card-carrying neo-nazi who loves MLP.
 
I wouldn’t consider us prime recruiting material by most groups.
 
Whenever other sites crack down on them though, like Reddit, we see an uptick here. Or people who we’ve previously banned suddenly show up here again. In some ways, we seem to be kind of the ex-girlfriend that will always loan them our sofa ‘until they get back up on their feet’.
 
Same is true for flat-earther’s, too. It’s hard to believe they exist or care about the Brony community, but here they are. As long as they mind their own business and don’t start spamming links to their latest screed, we don’t care what they get up to.
 
I mean, everyone has to be somewhere.

It really has been more of a slow broil that sometimes pops up over endless media coverage beyond that first wave. Most far right see through the “nazi” label in its liberal application. They wouldn’t unironically believe this place as a safe haven and probably see it as a hugbox but some would possibly do is try to get more and more general things of the fandom pushed into the “nazi” label as an accelerationist move for recruits. It’s why you got to stand your ground, stamp out against unironic behavior if you see it, and not let the media or others define you (even if you decide other action is needed).

I would say more likely than not that guy would be one if he was genuinely asking about it with just a little bit of window dressing on his “brand”. If he was randomly jumping in a very aggressive way than Poe Law would apply and I’d say 50/50 chance of him being that or a troll.

You are correct in many far right consider the fandom to be degenerate and you’ll sometimes even see being a member of the fandom be a secondary negative trait of other groups they don’t like in their memes and literature. I wouldn’t consider us prime recruiting material by most groups.

Considering that it is INCREDIBLY easy to “promote” such things (literally all you have to do is post a link and say something), then yes.  
It doesn’t even have to be a “long ruse”, you can just create an account and spam links and say how “good” such groups are.
