Random story on the topic of blue jays
There was a pair that would regularly come to my bird feeders this year and one had a broken top beak but thankfully it seemed to eat just fine because it kept coming back with their gf/bf to eat the peanuts so i’m glad it was doing well
They would always make their entrance known to the other birds (mostly house sparrows) with their loud squawk lol

A few years ago, my father heard what he thought was a red-tailed hawk–Nnnnnope! Just a juvenile blue jay at the birdbath that wanted some privacy.
