To be honest, I don’t care that much about the EG film. It was okay and that’s it.

If it was released in 2013, Equestria Girls wouldn’t exist at all.

Besides, you do realize animated movies take long to make than TV shows, right?

7 years for this film. Time sure flies by.

If it wasn’t for this movie, I probably wouldn’t have gone back to watch what was left of Friendship is Magic, since most of the creative decisions in season 6 were confusing, irrational and infuriating. But thanks to the film I got interested in My Little Pony again, even though I went back much later to watch the last seasons I haven’t watched at the time.

I kinda wish the film was released in 2013 instead of 2017 because at the time, people quickly lost interest in the show, and for good reasons. It stopped being a show about friendship and turned into a show were hostile toxic behavior is rewarded, which kinda affected the entertainment industry last decade, with meaningless redemptions but are there because “empathy”, and it’s very unfortunate because it doesn’t make any sense. Why should I trust a character who says “I’ve changed” when their actions don’t match with their words and ideas, especially in a kids show? It’s like the writers didn’t want their character to improve.

As a matter of fact, there’s a song in Fame and Misfortune that basically says “we have flaws, stop expecting us to improve as people”. But… wasn’t that the entire point of Friendship is Magic? It’s a kids show about friendship. You are supposed to teach friendship so that kids can catch things up and get better.

But I’m glad that this irritating approach didn’t affect the MLP movie.

I miss official Tempy stuff. I only rely on fandom-made things and I feel like her popularity has went down. I struggle finding new art of her to upload but still look everyday.

The movie has the same Japanese VAs / Seiyū since season 1.  
Although, I’m not sure if they’ve gone beyond season 2 for dubbing in Japan,

Feels more stupid than weird.  
I mean it’s bad that a theatrically released film looks like a theatrically released film and not a TV movie?

How weird is a criticism of the MLP 2017 movie is that the animation is too fluid from the show’s animation?

Finally got the japanese version of mlp movie! Was quite pricey, but worth it for a nerd.
 
I hate that they cropped the edges of the video, definitely leaves characters out of sight sometimes, mostly or entirely. Now I know what it must feel to have random anime titles cropped, heh. At least I can always mix the japanese track with an NA source video.
 
None of the songs are dubbed, but that’s fine and expected.
 
All of the original mane 6 & spike from the japanese season 1 & 2 are in it, so that makes me very happy.  
I especially love the Japanese voices for Twilight and Rainbow Dash.
 
I like most of the other voices too, and have put up a bunch of examples of Tempest Shadow for now.
 
Her Japanese VA is Sanae Kobayashi.
