Background Pony #3C18
  • Each Background Pony has a small (about 10%) chance of having a single-word name, such as Applejack
Wait, that should already be a thing. One of possible variants is empty string in an array, which case it generates a single name.

I wanna go to Equestria
Hey guys, I took a stab at updating this script myself, starting with Marker’s latest refactored version.

https://openuserjs.org/scripts/Maonyman/Namize_Background_Ponies!

Here’s a quick summary of what I changed:

  • Added support for the “Anonymous” users on Ponybooru
  • Now avoids very dark colored names (or dots) for dark theme users
    – Alternatively, new option to instead avoid very bright colored names for light theme heathens users
  • Each Background Pony has a small (about 10%) chance of having a single-word name, such as Applejack
  • Added / improved the list of possible names:
    – Removed a bunch of in my opinion boring options and near-duplicates such as “Lemon” / “Lemons”
    – Added the new Mane 5 pony names into the mix (Izzy, Hitch, etc)
    – Added several more FiM names (Macintosh, Mi Amore Cadenza, etc)
    – Added a few general MLP fandom references (iwtcird, chad spike, boop, etc)
    – Added a bunch of miscellaneous internet references from all over the place, everything from Numa Numa to Lord of the Rings to Among Us… just whatever popped into my head from the past 30 years of shitposting (Don’t worry, the vast majority of names will still be pony stuff. I wanted these references to be an infrequent thing just for fun, not an annoying barrage of constant memes)
  • When enabled, the addBackgroundPony option now appends “the Background Pony” instead of just “Background Pony” like it did before, so now you get stuff like “Desert Prism the Background Pony” which I thought sounds better.

Updated the script for Philomena. This should fix the script not being applied to new comments loaded from refreshing the comments list.

Not sure if I’m the only one still using this script. In case there are more of y’all out there, I refactored the code a bit and changed how the styling worked so that it can be used without installing extension to disable the CSP.

It should work with Tampermonkey on Chrome, Violentmonkey on Chrome and Firefox.

Background Pony #3C18
Updated the script.

Changelog:
  • Dropbox broke all the links across the internet. Changed link to icon picture to working one.
  • Also, support for front page’s ‘Recent Comments’ and ‘Forum Activity’, and tag changes page.

Also, refreshed links to script and pictures in the first post, no longer broken links.

Updated the script.

Changelog:
  • Fixed bug with broken html when blockquoting Background Pony with title.
  • Added support for BPs in image merging panel.

P.S. I feel like I seriously overcomplicated stuff while fixing that bug. If you’re js dev, feel free to point out how to simplify this.

Background Pony #3C18
@Mildgyth
Somebody deleted “wait-for-key-elements” script from Greasyfork, and my userscript depended on it.

Replaced with “node-creation-observer” from OpenUserJS, and removed jQuery stuff. Should work better in theory (eat a lot less CPU and it will not ‘flash’ hex BPs when reloading comments). It was a quick fix, so tell me if there’s any glitches.

Script updated for today’s site changes. It works now, but please report if you notice any hex BPs.

Also, included onion derpibooru URLs.

Link is same: [link]

EDIT: Deleted Greasyfork link. It will be no longer maintained on Greasyfork due to decision of admins to hide it from unregistered users due to non-existent “adult content”. Please use OpenUserJS link from now on, it will be maintained there.
P.S. Warning! Make sure to turn off auto-update.

Background Pony #4636
Any chance of further development? Current version shuts down all other derpi scripts (voting, previews, etc)

Default search

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
