So… Amphibia is heavily implied to be in the same universe (well, Earth), with how that Anne Boonchuy laptop thing is basically on full display in that scene, coupled with the blurred Owl House showing up in Amphibia on an interdimensional screen. Belos/Philip very nearly petrifying Luz was rather uncomfortable to watch… and if you believed a damn thing about Belos’ plea to Hunter to compromise him, you need to familiarize yourself with abuse tactics, because that kind of shit is textbook gaslighting, especially given the holy fuck number of bones and broken masks shown in this episode (also Hunter wasn’t even attacking him, just supporting his friends, so it’s doubly bullshit).
The guesses about “Caleb” were correct… Collector’s theme is a bop with a dark undercurrent to its beat, and he basically seems like he’s like Discord, but he’s more horrifically indifferent to causing death, rather than being another Bill Cipher.
I’m pretty damn sure Belos is still alive. You don’t show him dripping onto Hunter, then the slime appearing in the credits with the door closing if it isn’t supposed to be such.
Odd to say this, but kind of hoping that’s a scar Luz will have now as a result of this episode, over her eyebrow.
I love how it contrasts with Amphibia in the atmosphere for Luz returning home, with Amphibia being sunny, but it being dark and rainy when Luz and her friends reach her house, with it being much more prominently bittersweet.
For how this relates to Amphibia in a roundabout way, I love how the Collector basically shows just how hollow the Core’s claims of being a god truly were, even aside from the fact Anne fucking obliterated them, considering how effortlessly he could move the moon, how powerful it truly is. It’s oddly interesting when you think about it… also the Collector is very probably more powerful than all three Calamity Stones combined.
