@Mr.Myoozik
Itβs such a logical system, since itβs decimal based:
-
10mm = 1cm
-
100cm = 1m
-
1000m = 1km
-
1000L = 1mΒ³
-
1L of water weighs 1KG
Even the US military use metric, for example 1 klick is 1km.
In England weβre stubborn though, we refuse to stop using the imperial system completely; we use both metric and imperial:
- We buy fuel in litres
- Report fuel economy in MPG (UK gallon is larger than a US gallon)
- Road height restrictions are posted in ft in
- Road speed limits and distances posted in MPH, yards, miles
- Builders and carpenters ect will often use a combination of metric and imperial (Itβs easier to say something is off by an inch rather than 25mm) also some materials are still sold by the foot
- Food is sold in grams/kilograms
- Milk is sold by the pint
I always find American cookbooks odd; WTF is a cup in terms of measurment, I get ounces ect but, FFS a cup :D
