well she is the main character so she’s going to be ‘more perfect’-ish by default.  
They can’t really be taking too many risks with her as a character because the audience has to project onto her the most, not to mention that she is the fish-out-of-water protag and that’s enough to create conflicts and narrative.
 
So I agree.

Twilight is not perfect.
 
Her life is.
 
Or at the least, pretty close in what is an imperfect but nice world.

Well to distill it down to a simple point: the reason this show is popular is because it competently executes stereotypes the demographic loves seeing.  
Look at the most popular characters: a nerd girl and a shy girl.  
Neither are particularly special, both are executed well.

Because the way I see it, I think the show takes several, very intelligent risks, but I’d love to see it follow through with them.

If I may vent about a minor peeve here:
 
The snide, underhanded comments about those still not a fan of Twili-cornholing (I love that term) on ED should end. They’re few and far between, but they always stand out, and I’m starting to take it personally. I get it, not liking it is for squares, now stop inflating my major perturbing into outright internet rage!
 
Some want the show to end soon, but I think if(and that is a damn big if) they play their numerous cards right, I think we can enjoy the show for a good while without going into SpongeBob levels of mediocrity.

The reason is less about the story and more about scenes that we will never see in the show, such as these:

They are certainly more comedic than the show, and I think that attracts people. Plus, since we will never get a focus on them in on screen, it’s nice to see it in another official material.

I really hope they don’t try to reform everything.

Even if Twilight masters flight. She’ll never be as good as RD on this field, without the use of magic at least.

I actually like those type of villains who stop at nothing to achieve a goal, or to wreak senseless havoc. Sombra was so underrated.

So this is off topic but I think some of the antagonist in the show get too much praise while others get too much hate.

I am really sorry for your loss, but these illnesses are not exactly uncommon or offensive, so you can’t really fault people for that.

my dad died of a heartattack and really I don’t see the problem.

The two-issue arcs of the comic series really aren’t that memorable and I don’t get why they’re so beloved.

I hate the fandom joking about diabetes and heart attacks. I’m trying to look at adorable ponies and be happy; for pony’s sake, STOP reminding me that my Uncle is suffering and my Grandpa is dead.

They have twice more episodes this season than the previous one. I’m pretty sure they could leave Twilight absent for a quarter of the season.

While I am fine with Twilight not getting more focus than others, it won’t work for this season in particular. They ended with a huge change on Twilight’s part. If they don’t use that to expand the potential, it would beg the question “then why bother making her an alicorn princess”. An even focus on all the mane 6 with Twilight getting a bit more would be best, I think.

In the new intro, I think they showed a mostly full cast of main/secondary characters, at least the ones that live in Ponyville.

Probably not.I mean,Twilight is one of my favorites,but I don’t want the writers having her to hog all the attention.
 
Then again,remember that we are going back to 26 episodes season.I’m sure there will be more that enough spotlight for any of the main 6 + Spike,heck even probably (and hopefully)for Big Macintosh,Zecora,Cheerilee (seriously,the lack of Cheerilee in season 3 was alarming).Hearts and Hooves day proved they can handle an episode without starring any main characters…well,ok,technically,the CMC are main characters but the focus were Big Mac and Cheerilee in this case.
 
Personally,I really,really hope they get to finally flesh Shining and Cadence and do more stuff with Celestia and Luna (especially Celestia).
