Since there’s not a thread for the Kirby games yet, I’ve decided to make one.
 
First point of discussion: How did Return to Dream Land get E10+ despite not being much more violent or creepier than your standard Kirby game, yet Triple Deluxe only got E despite the fact that Dark Meta Knight is the first boss in a Kirby game to actually bleed since freaking Zero and 02?

Hello one and all. This thread’s for the massive info dump of news and videos for the games that were released in the last few days and so anyone interested or curious in XBC can ask questions about the series and/or the new game. Bear with me as I info-dump for the next few posts.  

Can we just have this implied by a search for an artist?  
It’s pretty frustrating to be missing pictures because I didn’t feel like checking if the particular artist had an * edits tag.
 
I’d be fine with it if the regular artist tag weren’t removed when these are added.

Thought I’d add my review to the new game “Life Is Strange” in case people would like to read it:
 
Life Is Strange is an episodic interactive drama graphic adventure video game developed by Dontnod Entertainment, and published by Square Enix.
 
I played episode 1 on my PS4 yesterday and after finishing it, I had a few thoughts running through my mind. This review doesn’t contain spoilers about the storyline (besides the summary), but I will talk about the gameplay and how it functions.
 
Here is a quick summary of episode 1:  
18-year-old Max Caulfield leaves her family in Seattle to study photography at Blackwell Academy in her hometown Arcadia Bay, Oregon. In a lesson, she experiences a vivid nightmare. After that, she discovers her ability to reverse time and saves her former best friend Chloe from being shot.
 
To make it all a little easier, I am going to write down the good- and the bad things, about this game. A pro’s and con’s list, if you may.
 
Pro: The general idea is interesting. It’s not practiculary a new idea, but going back in time to change the outcome is often a very fun power to have.  
Con: The obvious questions with this; Is it gonna work? While it does what you might expect, that time traveling feature doesn’t do anymore than that. That is to say, you can go back maybe a minute or two, but mostly- it doesn’t really change anything, it’s just something you have to do, to get further into the game.  
Pro: BUT, this is a multiply choice game, where you can choose your actions and decide what kind of person you want your character to be. Furthermore, if you quickly realize you made the wrong decision, you can go back in time and fix the “mistake”  
Con: That is to say, most multiply choices, won’t actually have an affect later, it will simply change the dialogue. Furthermore, the actions that actually do have consequences often– if not always - only gives you two options. Either do x or do y. Either check that bag or don’t. This is understandable as every decision has to have a different outcome, which would leave to the developers having to make a sh*t-load of outcomes.  
Pro: The story is build up nicely, the settings they place you in can be bone-chilling and the music is oodly satisfying.  
Con: The graphics and not the worst I have seen from a PS4 game, but it comes close. The facial expressions are not the best, the movement seems a little off and the lip-syncing is actually… really bad. It doesn’t ruin the game in my opinion, but this game could have the potential to be such a beautiful game. Sadly, it fails.
 
Now, I am not a professional reviewer, so my rating don’t have any actual authority, but in my personal opinion; I will give this game 7.0 out of 10.
 
I did buy the season pass, to get all five seasons as they come out, because I am hoping they will improve in the con’s and hopefully, they will blow me away even more in the pro’s.

It’s almost the end of February of 2015 and winter was about to end with a very bad snow storm. Heavy snow beings to pound the central area of Equestria, dumping snow that is 23 to 42 inches deep. This cause activities being cancelled, schools closed, businesses closed, and transportation cancelled or delayed. Even the railroads of Equestria are seeing this type of sitiuation, but that doesn’t mean, they won’t give up. They’re ready to tackle the heavy snowstorm.

Now if any of you guys have seen my old Badlands thread, you’ll know the basic premise. Lawless desert towns, drugs, prostitutes, murders, car races, yada yada yada. Though this time it’s just about the Individual experiences, instead of the whole Mechwreck angle. That’s still gonna be a part of it, just not as important.
 
Now then… For the new twist.
 
This time around, it’s gonna be Raiders Vs Invaders.
 
Now of course not all aliens are bad… just the Invaders. A Ruthless group of extraterrestrials bent on destroying the planet one Badlands thug at a time.

Here’s a interesting idea; a forum game about forum games. What I mean by this is that one person will come up with a forum game idea to which the next person replies and then they come up with the next thing. Bonus points, bonus points do not matter, for being meta.
 
For example:  
“Use a tv show quote that describes your love life”  
To which the next person responds:  
“Caboose nobody likes you” “I like me”  
and then they come up with a new idea for something the next person has to do.

Hey I’ve noticed that there doesn’t seem to be any topic like this on here,  
So was just curious if people wanted to use it and was sticking it here.
 
As I’m sure a lot of people have noticed and the mod staff has said there’s some issues with the stream programming actually figuring out who’s live or not.
 
So, more or less. Just a place for Artists to put when they are starting a stream or done streaming.
 
And people to talk about I guess.
 
I figure that artists posting should put that they’re starting to stream, or what time is expected, and what their stream is. Please try to keep it to the current day.

I remember when I was convinced to watch the show when it was just after Season 1 ended. After binge watching the entire season, I was ultra hyped up every subsequent season opening and finale. Now, I only feel that the show was right around decent for its demographic when I thought about it during its hiatus. I almost stopped giving a shit about the show and only came here to discuss about other things in the forums.

Someone just said it and no idea what it means

So its been about almost exactly a year now since he last posted anything on his tumblr. And he never showed any signs of wanting to leave, plus he was about to finish his comic before he left, so does anyone know what happened to him by any chance?

You’re probably wondering why I’m asking this question. Well, it’s for two reasons:
 

Alright, so original_sha512_hash is the original hash, obviously. But apparently, sha512_hash doesn’t account for image optimization, according to the documentation. So what’s the difference? And: what’s the point? If you have the original sha512 hash, you had to have had the original image, so the only point of sha512_hash is for filtering (or MAYBE dupe checks but I remember the site having a reverse image search), but if the image got optimized then it’s as good as useless. Nobody is going to go out and find the original image just to filter it. So IMO, sha512_hash shoud be calculated after the optimizing and original_sha512_hash is… pointless.

So many people are so critical of games for reasons that i’m afraid will get me ridiculed.
 
Art Style, Genre, Story, or Lack-there-of, even the Gender of a protagonist have been criticized so much by critics, gamers, and non-gamers alike that I just don’t know what to do anymore.
 
What happened to the days that you could have nonsensical stories and still get enjoyment out of players? What happened to Fun, instead, of Logic? What happened to being able to make the enemies whatever you want without someone calling racism or laziness? What ever happened to focusing on the game and not menu options that could break the experience?
 
Am I a dying breed, or has gaming changed into a confused mess?
