It’s a beautiful Sunday morning. It’s storming outside and I got nothing to do, may as well play some Vidya.
 
It’s a terrible game, But SCP secret laboratory is what I play to unwind. I think of it as a safari, and all the other players are the monkeys. It’s just fun to watch the chaos unfold.

Anyone remember buying those game magazines that came with the Demo discs with like a dozen games on it?
 
I remember playing Stuntman 2 and Dogs life to death on those discs.

I lean further to the right then a one legged unicyclest and I didn’t like it. Mother on daughter rape ain’t my thang and that show tried to make it look sexy.
 
I was like, “What do you take me for, show?”
 
First two volume are rated M tops. No more lewd than any other fanservicey modern anime. All mostly light fun.
 
And than outta no where come the Hard R and graphic rape presented in as titillating a matter as possible.
 
I almost felt personaly insulted.

Watching GI joe Resolute And I’m starting to think Charlie Addler, Steven blum and grey delisle voice every character in this movie.

Play Gor-Rok instead. Really fun campaign in the middle of Lustria.
 
You get a great Lord who can Tank almost anything and Lord Kroak who can nuke the enemy from orbit.

If Empire never existed, Star wars would still have been an excellent stand alone movie. It didn’t necessarily need a sequel because it was a complete and satisfying experience all on its own.

I’m halfway through thief 2 and Its one of the best games I’ve ever played with surprisingly few Glitches for an almost 20 year old game being played on a modern computer.
 
The one time it glitched was pretty funny though.
 
I was skulking through the castle when I hear footsteps coming towards me.  
I duck Into a sideroom and put my ear to the door. It’s a guard, and He’s coming my way. I Flatten myself against the wall behind the door and pull out my blackjack just in case.
 
The guard opens the door and peers into the room, checking for intruders while I hold my breath and push myself further in the shadows.
 
The guard grunts and turns to leave and I start to relax. Then it happens.
 
As the guard is Turning, Just His face clips through the door I’m hiding behind and suddenly we’re practically nose to nose.
 

 
There’s an awkward split second where we’re just locking eyes, And then I bop him on the shnoz wack a mole style and knock him out.  

 
I proceed to hide his body in a toilet stall.

Mass effect 2 went in a dissapointing direction but is almost as good as the first.
 
Three was horrible and it’s ending was was the least of its problems. Fucking 95% is glitchy ass arena combat with the occasional choices that are bottlenecked harder than the Persians at Thermopylae.
 
But whatever.

Excellent 80’s kids movie. It’s best described as The goonies vs the classic universal monsters

I liked Mass effect 2. But watching Mass effect become more and more focused on aping Gears of war and slashing the RPG and exploration rather than expand and improve on it was disappointing.
 
It’s like If you really liked Baldurs Gate, But than the Sequal came out and now it’s more like a linear Diablo clone.

I never said mass effect should have stopped. I said it had a great story and had there been no sequels, It would have been a satisfying one off, much like the original star wars.

I finished dead space 1 on impossible over a dozen times just to max out every weapon and suit. It’s the game of my teenage years.
 
Dead space 2 was ok. Finished it almost as much as One but resented the growing reliance on action and Michael bay pyrotechnic set pieces. The scariest part of that game was the return to the Ishimura.
 
Finished dead space 3 once. Utter exploitative brainless action trash in a deadpace skin suit.

Dead Space 1? Love it.  
Dead space 2? Playable but pointless.  
Dead space 3? Get that shit away from me.
 
Dead space Is my favourite horror game. It never shoulda been a series.

Seems the Guys working on the Dead Space Remake went to the Todd Howard School of video game development.
 
They’re more interested in cutting stuff that ‘doesn’t work’ than adding content.
 
Never mind the fact that the original game was already a very tight 12 hour game to start with. Every weapon, enemy and location had a purpose. What the fuck you gonna cut? Roll several weapons into one uber weapon? Map several actions into a context sensitive “Awsome” button ala Dragon age 2?
 
The original still holds up graphically and gameplay wise. And you think you can make it better by stripping down the feature set and applying a new coat of paint? Fuck you.

The chaos Gods are from Elric, Including the 8 pointed star, coined as a symbol for chaos by The elric series. Ulthuan and Naggaroth are just melnibone and Aenarion Is Elric. The original witch hunter models were Solomon kane models. The Moot and halflings are the shire and Hobbits. Sigmar is Conan and Ulric is Crom.
 
Beastmen were a race from another series altogether. Brettonia is ripped straight from the Lyonesse trilogy by Jack Vance, interspersed with Arthurian mythology.
 
The old world is the young kingdoms from Elric. Warhammer use to have gods of order like elric. Malus Darkblade is another take on elric. So is Teclis. Dwarves and High elves are stock Tolkien. The Skaven are Suspiciously similar to the Skeksis from Dark Crystal.
 
The Carstiens were stolen from an Old Hammer horror film called the vampire lovers and mixed with Dracula.
 
I could go on.
 
40k is just Dune, Starship troopers, Alien, 2000AD and blade runner. The Titans and Imperial knights are just a take on Battletech.
 
Ciaphias Kain is Flashman by george frasure. Gaunts Ghosts are Sharpes Rifles by Bernard Cornwall.
 
Arbites Are judge dread. The god emperor is a take on the God emperor of Dune and they both use foresight to steer humanity onto the “golden path”.
 
Etc etc.

Warhammer ripped off everyone. Blizzard ripping off warhammer is just a thief stealing from another thief. Karma.
 
The only reason Michael Moorcock hasn’t sued Games workshop is because he’s a hippy and not very litigious or protective of his IP. He’s more than happy to let others write story’s set in his mythos But even he’s called Games workshop “craven thieves”.

Games workshop started out selling miniatures for other Tabletop games like DnD, Elric, Conan and Lord of the rings to name a few. When they decided to create their own game they just repurposed those old miniatures and ripped off every Fantasy and Sci-fi property in existence to create their settings.
 
Warhammer is the equivalent of some kid tipping out his toy box and making his He-man figures fight his ninja turtles and Gi-joes and pretending it makes sense.
 
Not to mention the very concept of chaos and it’s iconography was ripped straight from Michael moorcock’s elric of melnibone series.
 
Elric was defined by the conflict between the gods of chaos and gods of order. Hey, remember those Order gods warhammer fantasy had in early editions?
 
If Michael Moorcock decided to sue Games workshop, He’d win and warhammer would never be the same. If games workshop had any brains they’d stop drawing attention to themselves and their own history of IP theft with all this anti-consumer and anti-fair use bullshit.
 
So when Games workshop complains about copy right infringement I just have to shake my head at the sheer balls of a company that built itself on Theft and Plagiarism.
