I don’t know whether to post this here or elsewhere, but let me preface this by saying that I did get a job interview, scheduled for Friday. The problem? It’s for a Walmart seasonal position, and I’ve read nothing but bad things online about the temp experience there. In addition, I really need a permanent position so I can move out, and seasonal really isn’t going to cut it unless I have a guarantee of a permanent slot after the holidays are over.
On the other side of the coin, I also am in contact with Yankee Publishing for a job as a senior production artist making $40-50k a year, but there’s absolutely no guarantee I’m even going to get an interview with them. So I’m looking for some help here. Can anyone who’s worked for Walmart tell me if I should even try for it, or hold on for the better job? The other problem is I really, really need a job before the end of the year so I can move the hell out of my parents’ house. I’ve been here over a year and they are driving me absolutely crazy. Help!
