Anything that’d normally be spoiled by my (rather insane) filter for some reason now shows the default “Tag Hidden” image with the caption “(Complex Filter)” instead of the tag or tags in question. No complex filters are actually set.

it happens every now and then here… either when the image is large and somehow a 16mb image eats 650mb of ram, or when the image has many replies.
usually i catch it because i’m constantly watching my ram, but i walked away for 30 minutes to an hour.
it was just the sheer size of the tab that struck me as i needed to come here to report it.
as for tabs, i use the great suspender, so probably about 20-30 active at most.
the 2.7gb tab though wasn’t linked with any other process at the time. if it was an extension that did it i would have seen it… at least i think.

Some strange behaviour when posting comments. Instead of getting the page with the comment, I get shunted to the home page and if I hit the back button to go back to the image, the post button no longer responds to mouse clicks. Reloading the page doesn’t seem to help. The button is still unresponsive, and the comment is still un-posted.
First noticed it last night. Restarting the browser and the computer haven’t had any effect. I’m running Firefox on Lubuntu 14.10.
EDIT: Okay, so Forum posts still work. So, what’s happened to the image comments?

What others asked and also: did you have any other tabs open? Did you have any addons enabled? Are you able to reproduce it?

With Firefox it’s not so much “springs leaks” as “looks like that Japanese battleship at the heart of the Bikini Atoll H-Bomb test”. I am for-realz going to have to replace my laptop because Firefox is such a freakin’ memory usage bloatwagon that I can’t stuff enough RAM in to keep it from bogging the entire thing down.

Information on your browser and how long you’ve had it open for would be useful. I’m going to take a wild stab and guess it was FireFox. Always springs memory leaks…

No. Different domains just tells routers “you can get to this site with this name or this other name”.
We used to canonically be derpiboo.ru, because vanity URL and all that. But we’re kind of assuming Putin will soon decide that only PURE ETHNIC RUSSIAN sites merit the .ru TLD, so switched to .org.
(trixiebooru.org uber alles, though)

Doesn’t having redundant domains mean the entire site isn’t automatically sent to the Moon if any of the servers decide they’re going to have a lie down for a while? I seem to recall that having been a constant worry in the past.

derpibooru.org is canonical and GWT is aware of this.
Our front-end caches are set up to normalize domain names internally. It only makes a difference for cookies, and provides additional redundancy on the domain name system level.

We have multiple domains for a reason. In particular, it makes switching to a secondary account trivial.
We also have derpibooru.org as the canonical domain as far as I know.

This site has two domains, derpibooru.org and derpiboo.ru. Neither redirects to the other. This is bad for various things; most notably search prominence and (potentially) front-end caching.
It would be best if you picked one canonical domain and 301’d the other (you should be able to tell Google to move results over to the other domain if you have both set up in Webmaster Tools).

Yes, scraping sometimes doesn’t work. You can paste the direct link to reverse search, e.g.
BTW reverse search could not only analyze image, but also search sources to find given URL. This would mean better results.

I use Internet Explorer on the Xbox 360 to come here, and a few weeks ago, it was doing that cached thing on there that other people were reporting was happening on the browser. I thought since it cleared up with a service pack, there would be an update for IE.
There was, but it ended up breaking the site completely. It doesn’t connect at all, saying it can’t connect to the servers or the internet. This is the first time I’ve been able to get on since it happened about a week ago, so I probably won’t be able to see if you guys say anything, but I just wanted you guys to know that it happened.
EDIT: I’ve been looking around elsewhere and it seems it’s a problem on IE’s end. It can’t connect to https sites for some reason. I don’t think this is a problem that can be fixed here. So, disregard this, I guess.

I just posted a dupe of the following image:

Some images don’t return a reverse search and uploading via deviantart link page gives error:

Judging by the tags on >>759004, the aliasing of dj pon3 to dj pon-3 isn’t exactly working right. The image in question somehow has both tags, and there are apparently 489 other images tagged “dj pon3”, but when I click the tag, it takes me to the “dj pon-3” tag page as if it were aliased properly. I wonder what’s up with that.

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization
, wings
, and spread wings
would all be found by a search for wing
, but sewing
would not be.
