I woulda gone with Awakening TBH.

I’m making a playlist of Nintendo music with Japanese style music, so far I’m starting on Fire Emblem Fates. I barely paid any attention to the music when I first played the game back in 2016, as A: my interest in Japanese music and settings hadn’t come up until 7 years later, and B: I was breezing through the game via Phoenix Mode because I’m incredibly stupid and am no good at games with permadeath.

I’m on chapter 18 myself (I started it when I was winding down on FE for the time), though what I’ve seem from Mekkah’s playthrough, it does get more intense (even if the story itself isn’t great even with having very good moments). I heard it’s more fun to play than to read. At least Alear themselves are uncomfortable with the hero-worship.

My library has a copy so I borrow that one, making it easier for me.

I haven’t played it yet and I’m still on the fence about it to this day. I already have a backlog going on my switch

So what are everyone’s thoughts on Engage? Recently played the first few levels and I’m not too hot on the story atm. I don’t hate the new direction like some fans do(in fact I loved 3 Houses and Awakening is my favorite in the series. Not too hot on Fates but I don’t hate it like everyone else seems to), I’m also not as familiar with the older style of games(only played PoR to completion, which was actually my first FE game as well as my second favorite, others however I only played in passing), however I feel like Engage seems to be the new direction at its worst, I’m really not a fan of Alear so far, neither visually or as a character, and I’m also not a fan of the hero worship surrounding them. I’m also finding the other characters kinda grating, I don’t like using this criticism, but the cast so far is feeling very….weeby. So far I do like the fanservice with the past games and I’m liking how it’s integrated into the gameplay but it can only carry the game so far

I think you’re overestimating the difficulty.

Normal is easy.

Classic:For people that want thier units to die.
Casual:Makes it so you don’t face death.

It has normal, hard and maddening. Normal is easy, though I and others say that are experienced in the series. TH also has it’s own timewheel that lets you turn back the turn counter a limited number of times to correct mistakes.

But does it have an easy difficulty at least? I’m not a hardcore player.

I assume you mean phoenix/easy. Three Houses doesn’t have a phoenix mode.

Is Fire Emblem Three Hopes hard? I’ve been thinking of getting that game since I’ve beaten both “Hyrule Warriors” games.

There’s a reason Blazing Knight often uses the Nazi Germany quotes for the BE for the Mock the Emblem series.

Now that I finished the Red Eagle route.

It made me appreciate Edelgard as a character. Do I hate Edelgard. No. Is she a terroist. Yes.
