You ever wonder if there’s anything from this fandom that will outlast humanity? Something like stone carvings/engravings of ponies or cast iron ponies.

There are ponies in space which is pretty cool, some contractor for NASA put Celestia on a PCB which is now in space and another engraved a pony (Luna IIRC) onto some optics which are now in space. Of course these will eventually fall out of orbit.

I can also see Rainbow and Cloudsdale fitting the aesthetic. And the Crystal Empire.

A bit harder to see quaint rural Ponyville like with that aesethic though.

They’re about the same when you will never watch either of them.

Being conscious of subjects like supply chains and economies of scale really makes it difficult to take seriously the tech that there is in G5. If humanity got reduced to three small cities that don’t communicate nor trade, we’d be back in the pre-industrial age. Even if all STEM knowledge was kept intact, the problem would be in technology becoming unaffordable.

G4 is far more believable in that regard.

Bronies are the only people that would be happy their favorite franchise is cancelled.

As far as I know, the algorithm rewards videos based off of how long someone has watched the video, which explains why a lot of video essays and analysis videos tend to clock in at around half an hour or longer and it gives advertisers more space to put in their ads. For TYT’s case, I don’t know how much it makes Hasbro money using this system, but since animation is a lengthy and expensive process, that may be one reason why the episodes tend to be short. Plus, I want to guess and say that Hasbro makes most of their profits from merch sales than anything.

I might be dating myself, but isn’t ~10 minutes seen as the best length for Youtube videos anyway (if for no other reason than the ability to include more ads)? I thought that was one of the major reasons Let’s Players got so big, they were playing to the algorithm.

Actually it just now occurs to me that I know very little about the big influencer-type Youtubers to get popular in the last ~10 years. Maybe 5 minutes is the new normal.

Well, I don’t want to come off as a braggart or say that it’s some sort of validation for me just because a well respected artist liked an image I made. Now that the initial shock is over, I take it in stride now and say “Oh cool, he faved a piece of mine”

While I can kinda get why they make it short, make it more palatable for the target audience who watches it on YouTube Kids, the fact that they made the special the same length as a standard episode and have it be successful shows that they are capable of making longer episodes if they want.

I actually own a G5-themed mug. If they had something like this in the West, I’d drink this out of that mug.

I needed to listen to every single MYM song to reignite my spark for it. I needed them to drown out comments like “Lol it’s a good thing G5 is cancelled because it fucking sucked”. I needed to remind myself why I love it so much. I just need to pretend people that make those comments are either deaf or hate music. It’s a good thing this Japanese trip gives me multiple car rides to listen to music or else MLP would be lost for me.

From my experience as a Sprout fan, the most likely answer is not the most pleasant

Episode today was decent, adventure episodes are always cool. Besides the aforementioned FiM episodes, it also reminded me of Lavarynth but with an RPG setting. I just wish there had been more humor.
