I dunno, I’m talking about a general feeling. Not as if I’m the one you’d have to convince of this anyway, just making my own opinion on the matter known :p

Moving this in from a separate thread I started without knowing this one existed:
 
Should tunapest and twilunapest be aliased? They describe the same thing, and as far as I can tell every imaged tagged with one is already tagged with the other.
 
I would argue tunapest should be aliased into twilunapest – the second option seems a bit more descriptive of the subject matter without requiring to know a priori that Twilight/Luna is sometimes called “tuna”.

Well, the stuff I usually look for tends to be… let’s a lot more vanilla than that, so let’s say a picture where someone drew their OT3 in non-sexual or post-sexual intimacy… or to can it with the unhelpful generalities, let’s say this picture here, which would be the one that got me started on all this:
 

 
Since none of them are actually interacting, as such, do I just tag none of the individual pairings?

Typically whichever pairs are interacting, for instance a spitroast where B is in the middle would not have the shipping tag for AxC unless A and C are also being intimate with each other in some way during, like kissing or something.

Should a picture containing a three-person ship be tagged with the “component” ships in addition to the main one? What I mean is, if there’s a picture with AxBxC in it, should it only be tagged AxBxC, or should it also be tagged with AxB, BxC and CxA?

They describe the same thing, and as far as I can tell every imaged tagged with one is already tagged with the other.

Considering the rather sound rejection of the idea of booting certain character types off the hippogriff tag, I feel like this probably isn’t a great idea. If there’s a general feeling that this type of character is distinct enough from the majority to warrant its own subtag then I won’t object to that, but I don’t really think they are distinct enough, not in the way classical and fandom style hippogriffs are.
 
And considering griffons and ponies shouldn’t be able to crossbreed at all, according to genetics, I don’t think that’s really a valid argument to make.

Now that this is done can i bring up something else? As we technically have a 3rd type of hippogriff that is ginetically impossible if you think about it tbh hippogriffs with paws on the front hooves seem rather impossible
 
So yea its like ok if classical ones are eagle and horse then they cant have paws at all. If fannonones are pony/griffon then paws cant be on the front legs cuz gryphons get paws on there back legs in equestria. Therefore ocs with paws on the front legs arnt even hippogriffs or ponygriffs

Note: Aliased Ponygriff into fanon hippogriff for now since there still seemed to be some confusion about it being the final tag name. [The name can still change later depending on general opinion.]

They aren’t.  
Hippogriff is the umbrella tag for all bird-horses. While classical/fanon hippogriff tags are for the specifics.

I can, though it wouldn’t show up until someone had almost completed typing the word hippogriff, and even then, they would oinly see “hippogriff (g4) (0)”. It wouldn’t let them know of a “classical hippogriff” tag. But I’ll alias those for now anyways.

I agree with a secondary tag and that’s what I was advocating for before.

Also while we’re at it zebra, can you alias hippogriff (g4) to classical hippogriff so that people not in the know about the classical tag will see that pop up when they type the hippogriff tag.

No idea how the alias happened. Maybe it was a renaming alias after Chapter 1 or 2 (I’m not that far into Heroes) and it was never un-aliased?

oc:silver storm should be de-aliased from oc:hired gun
 
The reasons being false positives and the fact Hired Gun is only called Silver Storm in the prologue. I can’t think of any other tag alias that depends on something exclusive to a cold open.
 
And it’s not like oc:hired gun is getting as much art as Kettle Corn or Crackle Pop, nine in the last year and I’m probably the only user who even watches the tag…
