What change would cause you to officially give up on the show?

What will your opinion be if she promptly dies in the same episode she turns into an alicorn?

Long story short, i’m in it for the long haul and i’m not turning back.

Sunset appearing in the main series would make me drop it in a heartbeat.
 
The show pushing forward any official romantic relationships between the Mane 6 wouldn’t make me drop it, but I would be angry. Leave any romances to the fandom’s imaginations. Besides, tv writing relationships is tricky, and all too often it comes at the expense of other factors - Star Vs the Forces of Evil is a recent offender I can think of: the Star/Marco/Jackie love triangle drama outright killed the show for me. I’d hate for MLP to fall into that.
 
Something that would also tick me off was if they ever ended up killing Celestia off or otherwise disposing of her permanently, especially after she’s finally been given some focus recently.

giving twilight a love interest would probably be the deal breaker for me, she has no need for one plus if said love interest is male it would feed into the idea princesses need a Prince Charming but if said love interest was female it would likely be shoehorned in to a point it doesn’t make sense not to mention the contraversy that would come about having a female love interest for her. Also shipping, we should be free to ship her as we please

Thankfully this one is purely hypothetical and never came to pass (nor will it ever), but I just remembered a possibility that would have made me scream betrayal at the top of my lungs if it had happened. So, consider this post to be made by my past self:
 
Imagine if, in Equestria Girls 1, the portal to Equestria had been destroyed while Twilight was still in the human world, trapping her there permanently. And as a result, Twilight in the human world becomes the new premise for the series, with Equestria and its characters sidelined. Yeah, I’m pretty sure people would have rioted.
 
Obviously this sounds quite silly nowadays, and thank goodness for that.

I still watch but seasons 5 & 6 because they were step down season 7 isn’t that much of an improvement since it feels like 5 & 6 just jazzed up little also that fact that’s cartoons like Steven Universe & Star vs The Forces of Evil that in my opinion that surpass MLP FIM well this all the short “my Why” anywhy

It suddenly starts being animated in MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker, and all the voice actors have been replaced with one really terrible one. And then everyone is completely out of character and Twilight Sparkle falls in love with some terrible OC lookin dude.

Nothing. I’ll stick by the show no matter what they do until it ends. Unless they get rid of Starlight, then I’ll be upset

If they turn the show into them only being in human form, then I’ll give up completely.

sadly, that is what will happen. Season 9 will end but EQG will outlive Friendship is Magic. Season 2 of EQG is already announced

It’s just not ehat it used to be with the new writers. It feels like a self parody sometimes. “It’s just a cartoon” is showing in the writing. It’s just another wacky cartoon with silly faces, loud screaming, way too much pop culture and at last, the introducing of the green ranger. Also the last villain was friggin Darla Dimple and Tartarus is some kind of storage depot. I jsut sweeped over season 8 and I foresee, the show finale will be a big “MEH”.
