Same. That said, anyone pleased that she got TWABA’d offscreen yet complained when the Mane 6 and princesses got the same in TWABA is a total hypocrite.

Was he though? It’s an open secret that Discord is an ass first and foremost. So was he trying to teach a lesson but was a dick about it? Or was he being a jerk and then when confronted made a post-hoc explanation of “Oh I was just teaching you a lesson.”

Personally I think he just figured “Teaching a moral lesson allows me to be a dick without any consequences!”

Nah. There’s a big difference between being pissed characters are getting the shaft for like the fourth premiere/finale in a row in favor of a character who’s being the focus for like the fourth premiere/finale in a row, and being happy characters are finally getting some focus again after four premieres/finales of getting screwed when it means shafting a character who’s gotten to be the star four premiere/finales in a row already. Being relieved we finally get a finale that gives the mane six some love after three and a half years of not getting premieres or finales that focus on the mane six isn’t hypocritical at all. Children have gone from the left image to the right image since we got a premiere or finale that didn’t focus on Starlight so it’s absolutely justified to be relieved she got the shaft for once :P

Shadow Play focused more on the Mane Six than Starlight, though.
 
And Starlight did nothing in School Daze other than throwing the EEA guideline book away.

Yeah, Starlight was basically just the moral support character in that one. And apart from the pep talk in School Daze, Starlight didn’t do much there either.

That’s what I’m saying. I didn’t mind that Starlight got the shaft this finale, it’s that I wouldn’t be surprised if the reasons for that is more bias against her.
 
Or maybe their kids who don’t know much and just like the characters for their bright shiny colors and funny faces that they make.

You see where I’m coming from though right? Starlight’s LONG overdue for her turn to get the shaft. Fair’s fair and all. It’s like the tv show equivalent to that one really crappy task that needs to be done at work and everyone’s gotta do it XD

I’m mostly against thinking it’s hypocritical. Like yeah people are biased for or against characters. Can any one of us truthfully say we’re NOT biased about characters? XD

That’s basically the other reason it’s bad to label it hypocritical. She wasn’t just somehow and unceremoniously taken out off-screen along with literally every other character as like an excuse to put others in the spotlight XD

She WAS unceremoniously gotten rid of. I’d argue less of a deal is made of Starlight being gone than the Mane 6 being gone in TWABA.
 
And yes, she was removed so the spotlight would be on the Student 6 rather than her. I’m fine with it, but that’s why it happened.

We at least got to see it happen, and she did play a role in the episode, and it was only one character instead of the entire cast. Worlds of difference XD

And also from what I’ve seen some are complaining about Celestia doing that and said she should be dethroned or have her be “called out”

Yeah I get you, but I’m still with Vivace and say that it’s hypocritical. Now I’m not saying that you shouldn’t admit that you’re biased towards a character. I’m heavily biased because I love Starlight Glimmer and almost everything that she does.

I like Starlight in season 8. We saw some of her good points, we even saw her going in rage (blasting Discord away). It is as it should be. I never thought her to be a new main character. She is as much support as Spike is. A lovely secondary character with decent spotlight. Well, the Trixie & Starlight episode was nice, but the reason why I like her is the way she’s not perfect at all. Feels much more “real” as any Mane 6 waifu. The finale was good, not great, expect the Student 6. I like them a lot. So yes, I’m pretty pleased. I got a new villian, some world building and so on. Too bad it will be over soon. But I’m curious about the future. MLP still works for me. That’s all I want to say. ;-D
