Your not exactly wrong about that we been shown that instead of just being a bully she also power hungry I also agree that whole abusive mother thing was big pile of bullshit just to shift the blame off diamond tiara to her mother instead of them being caused by herself so reformation would be easier for her the most messed up thing is spoiled rich showed up and had more lines to say than diamond tiara who never showed up in a prominent role after her reformation!

One thing, I dislike how the gag about starlight’s backstory is to go: “My friend left me I’m evil now lol” ignoring how genuinely traumatized she was in Crystalling at the prospect of seeing Sunburst again.
Even if it’s petty to a lot of people, at this point it should be clear that Starlight’s head is not like a lot of people’s, and it was important to HER.
