I’ll never see what people mean when they say that giving Twi wings changed her. At the most, I see her developing over three seasons into the mare she was after the wings. It wasn’t the wings that changed her, but her time learning and maturing, with the wings a symbol of how much she has developed over time.

I sometimes like to think about what would happen if they got some people from /mlp/ to write the show instead of only the current staff. In most scenarios I imagine the show being roughly the same quality, somewhat better or a masterpiece

To me she was already acting different in Games Ponies play. It really unnerved me how much Cadance’s breath trick worked.
 
Thankfully the power of that has been nerfed if Party Pooped is anything to go by.

You do remember that it didn’t work completely in the ep, right? It was a trick that worked a little, but didn’t prevent Twi from losing it.

but it did work, as I’m still waiting for Twilight to display some of her old sarcasm and neurotic tendencies.
 
if it didn’t how come the other mane 6 got to retain most, if not all of their old traits?

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t remember Twi being that sarcastic, and her insanity is still there, just not as up-front as it was before.

sorry, I really haven’t seen her obsessive compulsiveness in the past 4 seasons, or even a hint of it.. I mean, you can give me some examples. Was it in Bats?

what I was saying is that I don’t remember seeing that much of it and 4.5 seasons is a lot compared to just 2 seasons at the start. It makes sense that she wouldn’t display them as much, I’m not saying she should act the same way she did in s1-2 no more than I would say I want the other mane 6 to do so too, but I think they went with the not showing them a little too much. Still, those few clips are nice, that’s the side of Twilight I love the most.

Also, how many ep are there pre-season 4 that had Twilight go insane? Maybe it wasn’t as many as you remember, but did stood out and were memorial instead. I’m not trying to be mean, but it may be the case that we aren’t remembering everything correctly.

Swarm of the century, Bird in the hoof, Feeling Pinkie Keen, Lesson Zero, It’s about Time. Those are the best examples off the top of my head, as I’m sure there’s still more to follow. If we go by moments alone, where her going all neurotic wasn’t an integral/big part of the episode, you can even count ACW.

OK, I was just making sure that it wasn’t just nostalgia. I hate referring it, but I have seen people blinded by it in other fandoms, and wanted to make sure that you weren’t falling for the same trap.

I know what you mean, I may get a bit biased sometimes, but I’m really trying to be fair here.
 
seriously, if s1-2 would’ve all been just blind nostalgia, I don’t think that many fans would still be here today.
 
Let me put it this way too, I’m currently rewatching all of Gravity Falls and when I say, that show is the best show done in recent western cartoons, I don’t think I’m exactly exaggerating about that, even if you can compare it to other shows and make a good point, to me, Gravity Falls is as perfect as a show can possibly get, which has nothing to do with nostalgia, as I finished watching that show for the first time about a year ago.
