Four episodes to go (I’m not counting the finale here) and I still think none of those four episodes will feature them in any capacity. Between Dark and Dawn is looking to be their final appearance until the last 8 minutes or so of the finale.

But they’ve ended up causing the problem of “why the actual fuck are they still babies,” making them a more egregious case of “why are you still small” than the CMC (who Latecomer brought up, and oddly enough, they don’t feel as egregious to me, because at least they act significantly more mature than their debut).
 
(But yeah, that joke was… something, though we do have the consensus of “pony genetics are weird” by now, right?)

I’ll be real, I was waiting for your return for that very reason. This thread is fun, and very intellectually stimulating- good practice for debating skills. What with S9 being full of fridge logic to bicker over, it’ll be even better moving forward. Seriously, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the CMC episode, that’s gonna be a fun day.

The Cake Twins are fine, but they should’ve aged by now. Why the fuck haven’t they aged?! It’s been like 8 years or some shit!!! 8 year olds are not little babies anymore!!!! THEY SHOULD AGED!!!!

Unfortunately, aging seems to be mostly prohibited on this show. Don’t worry though, in order to develop a cure to this I have ordered Zipporwhill’s dog, the only known lifeform t0 grow visibly older in show time, dissected.

Yeah and the CMC are high school freshmen what’s yer point? The only time a character’s appearance notably changed in response to story events was Twilight getting slightly bigger when she got her wings. That’s it.

to be fair, for all we know ponies don’t “age” and instead periodically metamorphosize in cocoons.

I second this notion. I feel the cast should have aged to a certain degree. time kinda loses its agency if they don’t grow older.

I still find that weird. I guess they figured that just adding wings to his existing model would be easier and chaper than creating a totally new character model from scratch.

they probably just tweaked his existing model. like with alicorn twilight they just stretched her neck and limbs a bit, and gave her trixie’s horn.

I thought they did make a brand new model for her after MMC. That episode was a one off, so they just stretched out the existing one, but moving forward she had a proper model.

Yep, the Cake twins should at least be toddlers at this point. It’s been at least two or three years since season 2 in the show.

they edited her model so now she uses a very generic one, but she used to have more unique features. different eyes, etc.
