You can like a character and ignore the fans. I love plenty of characters that have shitty fans.

Also, 2 creative teams before, they said they would like to make an episode where Derpy and Time Turner saved the day from a threat that only Derpy could see because of her defective eyesight.  
Not like they were going to make such an episode, but at least they said they would like to make one.

Haters of characters are the worst, seriously some of them are so unhealthily obsessed they act like they murdered their dog and fucked its corpse. Hell I’m convinced you can tell someone Starlight did 9/11 and some of them will believe it

Starlight’s backstory is weak. It shouldn’t be the sole reason to hate her but it could be part of it.

Luna and Trixie are probably the biggest example. You can probably add Chrysalis and Starlight to an extent.

I’m perfectly fine with most of this list. The guards one seems a bit of an odd choice though to be honest.

Erm. I mean I wouldn’t say she’s the worst character in the series but a lot of the Wonderbolts episodes make her and a lot of them out to be total jerks.

That’s honestly all I want really. I don’t mind her not getting any “comeuppance” but I would like to see more episodes of her and the other Wonderbolts being nice again like they were in the earlier episodes.

She’s not but she’s a pretty big “whipping girl” so to speak. I’ve seen some of her haters complain about her in pictures that have nothing to do with her. Just for the sake of stirring up shit.

I’m not denying that some of her hardcore fans aren’t annoying but just because you’re quiet about your dislike about her, doesn’t mean that other people aren’t. Because some of them can be pretty vocal.

That too. I usually try my best to not let some overzelous fans ruin my opinion on certain characters (and series). If that were the case I wouldn’t like Luna or the show period because of the bad eggs in the fandom.

Obession and hatred are the most extreme emotions and should be avoided anyway. However, our primitive brain doesn’t seem to work that way, so fans are still a bunch of hormone-controlled apes fighting over the best food. Very intelligent apes, but in the heart and brain still quite stupid. ;-)

Well, you’d be surprised how clever, creative and social some animals can be. But it is very presumptuous to lump all different forms of life together and then compare them with a single species. It’s pretty pointless.
 
It is only one’s own ego (Ich-Bewusstsein) that makes humans special. I do not mean egoism, but the totality of consciousness together with the impulse to improve the situation beyond everyday needs. It is the greatest strength and weakness of the human species. And in the truest sense of the word very difficult to overcome and master.

The people of this site are horrible most of the time and whenever I flag it I’m told to grow up. I have tough skin but I do hate this place at times

I’m not talking about that, I’m trying to start a serious conversation about how people of this site (admins included) are quite hostile to new works that are posted when an artist is starting out.
