Will the show ever be considered something truly great, maybe one of the best cartoons ever made, or does the fact that it’s intended to sell toys to little girls hold it back from reaching its full potential for storytelling and lore?

So can we all agree on a conceptual level the most terrifying thing in the show are flyders?

It was cute, but the real message was missed by some people…..THEY’RE ARE DEAD. GET OVER!!

If I ever see a flying spider I’m actually leaving this planet.

I still maintain that that is one of the most devilishly convoluted cases of the butterfly effect that I have ever seen. If any one tiny detail had gone wrong – if that acorn had rolled elsewhere, if it had failed to grow, if that one fly hand’t bitten Starswirl, if it had but then simply hand’t been eaten by the plant – there wouldn’t have been any changelings, there wouldn’t have been Queen Chrysalis. This is not, I want to make clear, a complaint. It just amazes me how a series of minuscule, unnoticeable and uncontrollable events could have led to the creation of such a massive threat.
The real horror for me here is that all these events were extremely… well, everyday and commonplace. An acorn goes bad – hardly unusual. A squirrel finds it and tosses it away – must happen all the time, who in their right mind would pay attention to such a thing? A horsefly bites someone – well, horseflies in a land of ponies, these things must surely happen often. A carnivorous plant eats an insect – that is what carnivorous plant do.
There’s no way to investigate things like these, no way to notice them. If one of Equestria’s greatest threats can be born from a series of innocuous everyday trivialities of the sort that happen by the thousands daily, it’s a wonder that the pony world isn’t overrun with villains and monsters.
Well, more than it already is, I mean.

Another way is that she and the entire changeling race was spawned from a decrepit tree which grew from a rotten acorn in a grotto of magical runoff beneath a graveyard. The tree would ate nearby horseflies (one of which bit Starswirl) as well as some graveyard unicorn skeletons. Sometime later the changelings hatched from the tree.Meaning that basically changelings are the undead fusion of horsefly and unicorn spawned from a helltree with Chrysalis herself empowered by Starswirl’s blood.

I thought it was good too but They didn’t even leave any hints about how they died; which fans want to know because we already know they were dead.

That was the third two parter in a row where the mane five were so insignificant or unimportant that little to nothing would have been lost if they weren’t in it.
Starlight hasn’t stopped being focal point in two-parters since she was basically introduced. Lord knows the season 8 premiere will be all about her as well.

I’m sorry but what most of that sounded to me was: “I’m pissed that the mane 6 didn’t get the spotlight but Starlight did”, which is just utter bias.

The EQG Zephyr Breeze is really kind of bugging me, mostly because of the unfortunate implications they’re more forcing on the guy since his role is to be the guy to hit on Rainbow Dash

I don’t believe that is possible, because in the show, the mane6 are more mature and really they could get boyfriends.
