I’m only hyped for it at all to see pony Sunset interact with Princess Twilight again. I really don’t care for her reunion with Celestia, or any “feels”.
 
Maybe it’ll be well-done, if so great.

Honestly we still have certain main characters families the show needs to address like Scootaloo’s and Spike’s. And dammit if we get Trixie’s* parents in the show before theirs I’m gonna eat my foot

Oh, true…after seeing her comic mom I hope if she shows up in the show she has a different design.

I think some people might only watch Forgotten Friendship for the fact it has new pony content, over a month before the new season starts.
 
Granted, it’s probably only going to be about five minutes and only serve to drive the plot forward more than anything else. At least this time around we’ll actually see more than just Twilight’s library.

Here’s my Hot Take™: I actually like that they didn’t do anything important with Holder’s Boulder. Chekov can take his gun off the mantel and conceal it where the sun don’t shine*; a hanging setup works even more effectively in a simplified storytelling format like a kids’ show specifically because it’s so obvious, and subverting audience expectations is so uncommon.

I never did say I wanted it to happen in FiM. Also, I meant seeing them do anything of note. Twilight hardly mentioned them throughout the series. Hence why I said “really”

I understand why FIM hasn’t done much with the parents up to this point– the show ain’t about them, after all– but yeah, I do hope we get to see more of them with it being this late in the game.
 
Also I am SUPER SALTY that we haven’t seen hide nor forelock of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon since COTLM; I wanna see DT being good, dangit, and SS doing her own thing without being such a Marcie about it.
