Well I definitely think she could have been a lot better, both in her background and her redemption.
I actually never technically “hated” Starlight, it was more simply strong frustration when the staff seemed trying to push her on to the audience to make it so everyone liked her.
More, given I felt a position she did not deserve. Overly powerful in magic, far too easily forgiven without any sort of punishment or consequence, and in how it felt they were trying to convince everyone how special she was.
What is done is done, there’s no changing it, so what’s the point in staying angry about it? Her execution was completely blundered I feel, her character itself is not so much the issue.
