@Jarkes
this, so much this. dust
really isn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things. honestly, i’d love to see her in an environment where she wasn’t being encouraged and praised for doing her absolute best at any cost.
in fact, lets look at her using the fresh just-now-invented GLIMMER TRIANGLE. this simple test to determine if a character, within the rules of the show, is worthy of redemption. it just judges three overall aspects of their absolute worst act, that is intent, motive, and damage done, and if they overall aren’t as bad as glimmer, who was given a free second chance, then there’s no valid reason the writers could ever say “(s)he is beyond redemption”.
for reference, here is glimmer’s g-triangle:
intent: destroy the life of a single pony by changing history.
motive: vengeance.
damage done: death and suffering of countless ponies across multiple timelines.
here is lightning dust’s g-triangle:
intent: doing better than any other wonderbolt by fair or foul play.
motive: being the best (partly by personal desire and partly due to encouragement from spitfire).
damage done: indirectly caused minor injury to dashie, endangered lives of trespassers, caused a few wonderbolts to spin out.
yeah… dust is pretty redeemable. i mean really, people seem to get mad when i say lightning dust is a slightly worse rainbow dash, as if i’m implying dash is bad, but really i’m implying that lightning dust
really is not that bad of a person.
