Sidenote, I think the reason Chipcutter has adult wings in that scene is because the foal wings don’t have the necessary frames for the scene in particular. Notice how janky the foal wings are in comparison, it looks like there are only three different poses whereas the adult wings have upwards of twelve poses. This wouldn’t be a problem at all in CGI, mind.

Well you have a whole new set of problems in 3D. You still have to program the motion, and make sure the wings have a structure that facilitates that motion while actually looking halfway realistic.
 
I’m not sure it’s easier to be honest. I still feel organic material can be done easier in traditional animation.

Recreate that scene in SFM and see how it looks. Then in Blender. The key point in the 2D version is, the foal wings look like they’re skipping frames.

Well there humans and the mane six go to high school use to just deal with normal teenager stuff before magic was introduced to there world so if magic wasn’t introduced it would be kind of like high school musical except all the humans would different colors from each other.

Yeah, that was so incredibly unexpected. I mean, if I’m not mistaken Pinkie only did that herself for the first time a mere nine episodes previously (The One Where Pinkie Knows).
 
I’d really like to see more characters imitate Pinkie.

No, I’m not a fan of that episode overall since Rarity was basically written far more over the top than usual for the sake of catering to Maud. Plus, the disturbing intimidation scene near the end which was very OOC for her.
 
But still, Rariball was the one shining point of the episode, and I love cartoon physics way too much to not have loved it to death.

Rariball was dumb.

Why do people think green and brown look good

I find it kind of disturbing that fans of a cute horse cartoon seem to hold punishment in higher regard than rehabilitation and righting past wrongs.

Full agreement. The show never quite gets it right, but redemption is a wonderful thing that should be celebrated.

Disturbing? How so? Just cause it’s a world of ‘cute cartoon horses’ doesn’t mean everything has to be happy.
 
Unrelated, but I’ll never understand why so many people care about canon to the point of getting upset at the very idea that IDW or EQG may be canon in the show. Like, who cares? Just ignore it ffs. If you hate it, you’re already not reading/watching it so it doesn’t affect you.

Obviously not everything has to be happy. I mean, my favourite season was when the show went a bit off the rails and suddenly tackled a bunch of dark stuff it had lurking below the surface. But even in that case, it did so to give us something constructive and positive. Punishment can be effective and appropriate, but it’s generally not very positive or constructive. It’s a cute show about friendship, and some people act like it should be Law and Order.
 
Shifting gears, there’s not even any point in arguing what’s canon and what isn’t. If a person doesn’t read the comics, they can just say  
“I don’t read the comics, so if we’re going to discuss stuff, then we kinda have to stick to the context of the show.”

It is absolutely not hard at all to process the fact that FIM and EqG and the IDW comics can’t be used to make any definitive statements about any of the others, because each one is doing its own thing in its own format.

It’s weird when people find it a personal insult to bring up any of the other material, yet consider their headcanons and extra-textual interpretations fair game though. It’s not hard canon, but it often provides some interesting interpretations and… hell, it’s something to inspire some discussion.
 
Plus it gives me the ability to post this every time someone predicts a character’s going to become an alicorn.

This. Some people seem to think just because it happened before in the show that means it’s ok to do it again without realizing that if some people called bullshit on it then they’ll call bullshit on it again.

Remember when the comics said that Twilight Velvet was the author of the Daring Do series? Any updates on that?
