Unpopular opinion time

i hate shipper caption memes with the one joke of “har har har they tots fukeded” they’re not clever, funny or cute they’re annoying.

I don’t know whether to be pissed off or glad that they completely ignore most of what happened in the season 6 finale.

The only thing they bring up is the reformed changelings. The fact that the Mane 6 and Royals get captured off screen and NOBODY mentions it and it has absolutely zero impact on the characters. Then you also have that anti-magic stone that isn’t referenced at all later on as well.

Well I can’t say anything about how lax their defenses have been proven and will forever be.
 
But the stone was never gonna be important.
 
Anti-magic is always brought out of the blue for convenience’s sake.

Im just going to hope that season 8 is much, much better than this season.
 
and that it doesn’t focus on Starlight and her crew.

I just haven’t been enjoying this season as much. Sigh…it’s draining my enthusiam for my show overall and now I’m finding myself more interested in EQG lol. And even then I’ll have to deal with its shallow attempts at romance, airing less frequently than the show, and being stuck in canon limbo.

I think it has to do with a lot of old writers leaving too, and I’m usually not one to pay attention to who writes an episode…but I feel it this time.

I’ve been enjoying this season more so far than I have season six, despite the fact I still don’t really like Starlight.
 
“Glimmer and Friends” might end up actually being a good thing, to freshen the series up a bit. With everything that keeps being revealed I think it’s more and more likely it’s going to happen, so better to be prepared for it than go in kicking and screaming.
 
And Equestria Girls might end up being its own series as well, in time (probably broadcast on the same day as Friendship is Magic, if I had to guess). It’s gotten to the point where they need to break away from the once a year movie format if they want it to grow.

“Glimmer and Friends” at least doesn’t tarnish the past seasons, only the current one, as opposed to all those damn episodes shitting over the Mane 6 by creating new illogical character flaws out of nowhere, I suppose…
 
Yes, I’m saying more Glimmer is better, THAT is how low my expectations are now.

I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t become a tv show yet, but maybe soon.
 
I don’t really care for Glimmer either but I do like characters like Maud and I LOVE Trixie, she’s right behind Sunset for me so at least something good came out of this. My wrath is directed to Thorax though…I’ve said many time before. I’ll be super happy if they got taken out of the show…which they won’t >.> and I’m sure Chrysalis will suffer.

Honestly, i don’t like the argument “We have to rely on the old writers to make MLP Great Again” I think that’s kind of stubborn IMO. And i really stopped believing it After Parental Glideance. Josh Hamilton did a fantastic job.

I’ve never said that, but I just feel the difference now that they’re gone. I think it’s obvious I don’t like some of the changes the new writers have made.

Wait wtf, why hasn’t EQG tried to hook up any of the other characters? I just realized that it’s really only with Twilight (leave Sunset alone I don’t want her to suffer terrible romance) but the other five??

From what I’ve heard, it was better with Timber/Not Pony Twilight, and Flash doesn’t get any.
