So… about the parents of Starlight and Sunburst. That was a surprising episode.

So… What is it, exactly, that the target audience doesn’t like about Applejack?

We first need to establish the staff member you are talking about actually said what you think she is saying, or even if it is in context. More, there is the question of what might come with a G5 My Little Pony.
 
I can’t say or even make a guess.. in part because I don’t know where people are getting their information that anyone on staff dislikes Applejack or feels she needs to be changed. Link perhaps?

What makes you think Applejack will be changing, that parts of her will be replaced with something else?

Apparently a few staff don’t like the way they done her character for the past few seasons, and Hasbro said that she needs a revamp to become more popular.
 
Also I actually don’t mind G5 AJ, and I think that the racist/ “SJW pandering” comments about how she might end up with a black VA for the show to be kinda sad.

No only Season 8 leaks… Though what you linked is fan art, nothing offical. Unless an artist here on Derpibooru with over a thousand images tagged to them has become part of the show staff?

That thread requires spoilers and members didn’t seem to take well duscussion of the leaks there I think is the reason why a new thread was created.

I could understand posting such to the actual site in public threads or uploading screenshots or other spoilers where those who don’t want to see it might… But why would PMing such be an issue?

Because we would still be showing the leaks on the site, even if it is PM’s.
 
Think back when the movie came out, someone said that he would send PM’s to links to it for people that wanted to see it, and he got banned for it.

I like the idea of Twilight as an earth pony.
 
I mean I have a rather extreme way of doing it, but hey.
 
Keeping Rarity as a unicorn and making Fluttershy a unicorn is nice. They are both the most elegant and it keeps to that classical unicorn aesthetic. I would love for Fluttershy to be a like a Pokemon Ranger almost, using her magic to ask animals for help with problems.
 
Sure she already does that, but made more explicit here. A deeper connection with animals through magic.
 
I have no positive opinion on Applejack at the moment until they settle it out.
