I just don’t understand why many people said that Twilight was badly portrayed in S7 and 8…. when she was easily the best of the Mane 6 in both of them. Let me make a list of moments from those seasons in which she shined as character:  
-She was worried about her student’s fate if she went away, like Celestia was for her prior of the series;  
-She was good support for Fluttershy in A Healt of Information;  
-She was always there to make her fans happy, even though she actually wanted to have a vacation;  
-She had some nice developments in A Flurry of Emotions and Shadow Play;  
-Albeith with Starlight’s support, she confronted Neighsay and opened her school even thought he tried to forbid her to do it;  
-She wanted to make her mentor happy by making her part of her play and was really willing to find a solution for make it work;  
-She fought a freaking Roc;  
-She she stopped the Mane 6 from fighting after the fake ones caused the mess and was also willing to renounce to the trip and returning home if that would have helped them stopping fighting;  
-She putted Gallus on trial by giving himself the chance to confess, even thought she figured out he did the prank, instead of punishing directly;  
-She was willing to put her reputation at risk in order to stop Flim and Flam’s greedy scheme;  
-She gave a good advice to RD to show how to be a pony who deserves a fan to Scootaloo;  
-She tried her best to find a place for Rockhoof in the world (and even though he asked her to turn him into stone, she said it would have been temporarily, until she found an effective place for him. She wasn’t really giving up);  
-Instead of going mad to Cozy Glow, she felt bad for her, and felt responsable of not having been a good teacher for her.
 
Yeah….. could somebody explain me why she received so much hate in those season again? I can understand that, writers kinda abused of her freakouts at the beginning of S9 (which were mostly justified, aside the highlighters one) but that isn’t a good reason to deliberately ignore all the good things she did and the good developments she went through in the previous two seasons…
 
Sometimes I wonder if this fandom actually watches the show to begin with…
