Given how much money the MLP movie’s already gaining, there’s a chance they’ll get that opportunity with a sequel.

And with Michael Bay and Akiva Goldsman no longer involved in the Bayformers films, they would almost get that opportunity too. (Sure Bay is a producer, but the Bumblebee movie has a well received director, although with a kinda hated screenwriter)
 
Hopefully, the Hasbro Cinematic Universe starts well with a G.I. Joe movie that is rebooted with the right crew and right cast to be as critically praised as Ouija: Origin of Evil.

Have fun with all that, Hasbro. Maybe you can hire some good writers with it.

I could care less about pompous snob and amateurish movie “critics” on Rotten Tomatoes or other sites and their opinions on the movie. Too many people on the internet talk as if their opinions are fact and act as if they’re experts in writing, animation, or the entertainment industry in general.
 
The MLP movie was never going to get widespread critical claim from Hollywood or the viewing masses because an inherent bias towards the My Little Pony brand name will always exist due to its past history and narrow-minded societal connotations established against it as only a show for little girls. The brony fandom also has contributed to outsiders’ negative views due to their ignorance and refusal to accept anyone can enjoy this show and movie outside of the target demographic even though Disney films have brought joy to people of all ages and genders for decades.
 
That aside, the movie was no masterpiece and had some shortcomings, but overall was a good, solid film and entry for generation 4 of MLP. It worked for people who were already fans and possibly hooked in a few new fans, but that’s the best we could have expected in all honesty.

As much as I would sacrifice my somethings to accept the fact that MLP won’t be as big in popularity as Steven Universe, SpongeBob Squarepants, Marvel, DC and The Simpsons (just like Power Rangers), I can agree that It’s a good film.
 
Sure, some people have different opinions, but I have mine that I would do anything to not be oppressed by harshly negative opinions and feel good about liking MLP G4 and also Hasbro as a company, same with shows and films that people hate. (Even if they do need more love in the film industry.)

Steven Universe is hardly more popular than MLP. Have you seen any Steven Universe-centric conventions being held anywhere in the world, especially to the number that MLP has had over the years?
 
Steven Universe is a great cartoon series, don’t get me wrong, and is often cited as having deeper storylines and more complex characters than MLP, which is true. As such, it tends to get more critical praise than MLP does. It has more that appeals to adults and teens than MLP provides and it isn’t afraid to tackle same-sex relationships, death, and war, among other serious subject matter.

Steven Universe educates me, and I can think and ponder it’s lore and messages forever…
 
…but I find pony more entertaining and inspiring.
