I can still use emojis even if I don’t want to watch that disgusting movie.

Seems pretty appropiate. Plus, the Emojis are things absurdly known and massively used at a worldwide level so it makes sense that a movie based on literal pop culture icons would get a Oscar nomination.  
Also, the movie’s Audience Score at RT dropped down to 81% so I suppose the goalposts will be moved again.

More to the point, why would they submit the Emoji movie? Some kind of joke? I mean weep now, because the Emoji movie is almost certain to beat the MLP movie to a Golden Raspberry too.

The Academy Awards are and always have been a big circlejerk, where if you’re not on the “inside” then you can pretty much guarantee your movie won’t get even a nomination. Why do you think so many movies in the past that have won featured white actors? I mean that’s almost a whole different discussion, but it’s related to the fact that the Academy board is filled with old white men who know what they want to see, and have friends in the big entertainment industries like Sony. Doesn’t matter if the public thinks your movie is ass, just get enough clout on the board and you can get nominated at least.
 
TL:DR Fuck the Oscars.

I wish there was an awards show not hated by everyone… :(
