Finally watched Forgotten Friendship a few weeks ago after forgetting it existed and I gotta say it’s definitely my favorite thing in the entire EqG franchise. It was terrific. I’ve been a vocal critic of the franchise since it began five years ago, but they’re really doing good things with the shorts and specials these last couple of years or so. I have a new appreciation for Sunset Shimmer, and can totally identify with Wallflower in being socially invisible except in my case it’s usually completely intentional.

….I swear I had a dream that SciTwi and Flash kissed and I was very confused.

Well, that kind of depends. What we have seen so far suggests that Sunset still has feelings (I’m not talking about love) for Flash. She takes care of him and would like to build him up.
 
A kiss between Flash and Sci Twi would be a break between Sci Twi and Timber, but above all it would imply that Flash is not yet over his feelings for Twilight.
 
The interesting question at this point: Who would Flash turn to? He loves Twilight. But Sunset is nice to him (not questioning her motivation). He’s practically living with his swarm’s twin sister. Let’s face it: Who has NO pity for Flash at this point?

Why? Because you find him weak? Or because he can’t get out of the hole himself? I’m asking you, absolutely friendly, tell me your opinion. I hold you in high esteem. I’ll still get you into a discussion as soon as you agree to it. ;-)

His entire existence is based on the fact that he was a love interest, and that still seems to mostly be the case…I don’t think anything he’s gotten since then has really been enough and his fans are annoying.

Timber Spruce isn’t that great either but I care less because I don’t give a damn about SciTwi or her relationship…except when people try to push her with Flash because apparently he’s entitled to anyone with the name Twilight slapped onto them.

To be fair, one could see Sunset’ and Flash interractions as sibling-like, so it might not be an issue (if Flash ever dates Sci-Twi).
 
I mean Sunset even messed up his hair - which is something older siblings, often do to younger siblings, or people with similar relationships.
 
To explore on it - I think Sunset’s and Flash’ interractions, were developed by the writters as sibling like.
 
Even how Sunset gave Flash advice in Legend of Everfree about pony Twilight, came of like an older sister, coming of a bit with a harsh truth, but still trying to be empathetic.
 
I discussed with people, than Flash and Sunset, came of in their short moments, as more like brother and sister, than Timber and Gloriosa, but of course YMMV.
 
(Which why I think Gloriosa should return - to develop more this interraction. I saw a number of people liking one on this forum, but disliking/or being neutral towards the oter, but don’t yoy people think, that Gloriosa returning, and having her relationship with Timber more explored, would benefit both characters, and their development?)
 
About though Flash’ potential relationship with Sci-Twi, my doubts about are though, that it could be hard of have it not come of, that Flash would love/romance a shadow then .
 
Another option for Flash though, could be dating Derpy, or Trixie. Derpy is consistently nice towards Flash, and cares about him, and the curious thing is, that Flash was the first main/important Equestria Girls charater nice towards EqG!Trixie in Good Vibes - was even surprised fan didn’t made Flash x Trixie something of pairing after the short.
 
Especially that Flash and Trixie are/were both somewhat unlucky characters…

Because if it’s simply a kiss, it wouldn’t be that bad.

I can’t say anything about his fans. Because fans (no matter who) are just annoying in a nutshell. To be honest.
 
And, of course, his entry into the MLP franchise was very weak. Like the whole first movie. This is not a bashing from my side, but an upright opinion. It shouldn’t ignore the fact that things got better and better afterwards. It’s just a pity we got off to such a “flat start” (German: Flachstart).
 
I find him charming in some way. Of course, he’s a little annoying and awkward. But it certainly not a bad guy and I really hope that at some point we will see that he has a bit more luck with the ladies. I’d like to see him at Sunset’s side. Just to say that, the human(e) sunset. Not the Pony Sunset. Even though they’re friends now.

You’re absolutely right. Anything you say. I’d also be greatful for a date between Flash and Derpy. At least when there’s no human(e) Sunset. And even then, I’d probably be more on the Flash X Derpy side of my heart. ;-D

Just checked the press release, and unfortunately there is no new EG special airing in July, what they are doing for MLP in July is airing an event callled My Little Pony Karaoke Summer where sing along versions of episodes will air every Saturday in July untill July 21st
