Because they didn’t have the budget in Season 1 and couldn’t be bothered to change it. We had one BG filly puppet (or at most one per race) until at least Twilight Time AFAIK. Don’t know how many times I’ve said that…

Nah, Spike At Your Service is at least funny enough that I can forgive slight breaches in character traits.

I found Service painful, while Princess was just a victim of the formula they themselves created.

All iknow about her is that she’s apparently a zombie made out of sweets and the fanfics she was in apparently had her killing all of the mane 6 and some of the other characters and turning them into candy zombies too.

Some of Rarity’s outfits don’t seem very practical, like her diamond hat in Maud Pie, or her carousel dress in Equestria Girls.

Just watched Princess Spike and What About Discord.
 
There’s no question Princess Spike is bad, but I don’t know if it’s the worst episode of the show. Newbie Dash, 28 Pranks Later, Cart Before the Ponies, Non-Compete Clause and Yakity Sax are strong contenders for that title.
